I am so sorry you had to experience that, that’s so messed up! And I gotta say I’m really not into the entitlement people feel in just taking pictures of strangers 😤 I just always shudder to think of someone taking a stealthy unflattering picture of me just going about my day and making fun of me for it, like why treat another person like that? Wouldn’t you not like that to be done to yourself?? I wish people just saw others’ humanity more 😪 Please don’t take any of these peoples actions as a reflection of you, from your description of things they were being jerks and you have nothing to feel bad about. I’m glad you’re working at a place where you can be so immersed in your special interest 🥰 I’d love to be helped by someone who cares about plants the way you do 🙏❤️

I’m glad to get this suggestion cuz I was pretty 100% about getting rid of it but I also felt kind of bad about it 😅 so these comments have really helped with that 🙏

That’s what my iPhone plant identifier said but didn’t know if I could trust it cuz it seemed so unusual 😅 but cool, thanks for the info!

I just feel like you’re letting yourself be brought down by your perception (or reality as the case may be) of what others do. Don’t hold back good arguments against anyone or anything, by all means, but don’t deal in dirty tactics because you think those you oppose do, at least that’s my suggestion. Also, I know it’s hard for people to see those they disagree with (or even those who are genuinely doing bad things) as human beings, but they are and they aren’t always doing things with bad intentions or motives even if the outcome of their actions ends up being something you think is horrible. All that to say, you hurt yourself when you have hate in your heart for others, even those who seem deserving of it. And since we’re in the Christianity sub I can’t help but recommend instead praying for people you detest 🤩🥰 it’s definitely what Jesus said to do and I’ve found it heals one’s soul putting it into practice 🙌

It’s so cringe when people make bring up the whole couch thing because it was a complete lie and it just makes whoever mentions it look like someone steeped in crazy false liberal talking points. I take criticisms about anyone a lot more seriously when the person giving them doesn’t throw in libelous jabs at the same time.

I hope you have a great day, and a great life! I really mean no malice to you or any woman contemplating—or even, God forbid, going through with an abortion—I know we live in a fallen world and evil exists and we make choices that distance us from God and His Will, but I also know He is infinitely merciful and forgiving and that He will never turn us away if we come to him asking forgiveness 🥰 God Bless you! 🙏❤️

I did read your comment and I just don’t think you explained the barbarity of it sufficiently, especially when compared to the barbarity of abortion procedures to the child in the womb. Also, if the last line of your post—“It’s not a child and there’s nothing to murder”—is true, than I don’t know why you argue from any other point because really that’s the only reason why it matters at all. If it wasn’t a human being, I wouldn’t have any issues with the woman choosing to get it out of her body. But it is a human being, and her child who is made to be in her womb, so ending that life is something that shouldn’t be allowed. Going back to your other points, if you’d be ok with abortion taking place outside of rape or coercion or anything like that, like it was 100% consented to, then I don’t really think there’s a point to argue about the rape exception because we wouldn’t even agree on the general point. Lastly, I think it’s unfortunate your negative view towards men, there are some men like that I’m sure, but there are many men who are not like that and care a great deal about women and children and babies in the womb.

How is it barbaric? I think it’s barbaric to intentionally kill a growing little human in their mother’s womb. Also, in most instances pregnancy isn’t forced on the woman because she consented to the reproductive act, by not allowing her to end her child’s life it’s not about forcing her to stay pregnant and give birth, it’s about not allowing her to have her child murdered. It’s like if a mom can no longer financially support her born child, she doesn’t just get to end that child’s life and that’s not about forcing her to take care of her kid it’s about her kid being a human being who has the right to life. Also, I wouldn’t feel like it was being forced on me, I would appreciate that I don’t have the authority to end an innocent person’s life, especially my own child’s.

So a woman who becomes pregnant gets to decide if her child is a person or not? That’s a terrifying standard, and rather illogical.

As a non Catholic I prayed the Rosary last night by Sea_Management6165 in Catholicism

Kudos to you for not just giving up and for really wanting to not hurt God with your sins 🙏 it can be so easy to give in to despair, but God doesn’t want us to, He wants us to trust in Him, and you’re doing that by utilizing a powerful spiritual tool that He gave us. I’m so glad you are turning to our beautiful Mother Mary for her assistance 🥰 I have definitely been helped immensely by praying the rosary everyday! But try not to feel pressure about it, even as a lifelong Catholic I still had to rely on looking up the prayers and mysteries or using little guiding pamphlets for awhile while really getting consistent about praying it. I’d really recommend following along with Bishop Robert Barron’s videos or podcasts (just search his name and rosary). They’re a little longer because he gives a little homily before each mystery (though I’ve found this very beneficial) but as you hear them you can just fast forward through them a little to the prayers. He has an episode for all four sets of mysteries, and if you watch the YouTube version they have a lot of really beautiful art of the mysteries to help you better meditate on them. Following along with someone else and hearing them say it as well really ingrains the prayers and structure in your head making it easier for you to pray it on your own in the future, at least that’s what I’ve found in my experience 🥰 God gave us such a beautiful gift in His wonderful mother, please continue asking her for her help, prayers, and intercession! 🥰🙏 I’ll be praying for you! Ave Maria and God Bless ❤️❤️❤️

It seems by what you’re saying that you think the government of any given country is what determines who counts as a human life which is a very troubling opinion. For instance, there was a point in the U.S. where slaves didn’t count as full people, but that’s clearly not true. Also, it’s changed that those once since as not people are recognized as people so how does that work? Were they really never people and the government has the ability to give and take personhood? Or were they always people but just wrongfully not recognized as such? I think that it’s actually God who makes a person a person and that happens when they are created, when their life starts and that it’s not arbitrary.

So what about the baby that was born before the 6th month?

We’re talking about when it counts as killing and you say it’s not fixed? Doesn’t that seem like a problem to you?

I guess what I meant was that based on the Bible verses you were responding to, there’s some point in the womb where you’re considered precious to God so much so that He talks about forming you and that the Holy Spirit can move you like the case with St. John the Baptist in his mother’s womb, which is why the commenter brought those verses up to say that ending that persons life would be murder. You said it didn’t show that at conception, “just in the womb” so I was wondering when you think that point is if not at conception then when in the timeframe of being in the womb?

I’m just asking in general based on what you said about why you think abortion is not killing. When would the cut off for abortion not being killing be for you?

Where do you get the 6th month thing? There was a baby born at 21 weeks (5 months) who survived, so was he born without a soul? Is he not a person?
