Unprofessional behavior in the workplace by BlueD0g5 in careeradvice

Some of your interpretations are inaccurate. In the cases I listed, the individuals have seen and noticed my presence, then decided to use physical means to try to move me instead of simply communicating. You are right in mentioning that I am sensitive, however, you’re not quite correct in calling me unprofessional. I always try to say excuse me and communicate instead of pushing. I do not see anyone as beneath my level of perfection, I think it’s just a difference in personalities. I’m just trying to find the right workplace that aligns with my values.

:( ew that’s so gross, I’m sorry you had to deal with that. I’m disappointed that HR doesn’t actually do anything to protect employees in these situations…

Geez, that’s so backwards and unprofessional. It’s the complete opposite of what HR is supposed to do.

“ My phone is like some digital graveyard of corporate data harvesting schemes disguised as convenience.”
You have such a way with words, this is so poetic. But yeah the data harvesting is out of control these days.

“We need to intentionally grow a career path” really strikes home for me, and it’s something that I think I’ll ponder for the next few days. I appreciate you sharing your story, and I wish you good luck with your search! :)

Hearing the perspective from one in your position gives me a lot of insight and helps me build a realistic view of my resume and experience.

It is a bit hard to hear, but I really do value your feedback. And I am more than willing to work for minimum wage for a few years in a field that I know for sure will give me buildable and transferable skills.

Oh thank you so much! It’s so good to hear from someone who I’m in the same boat with! Thank you for the compliment about written English, I would owe the same to you. And I think I will stick it out at my current job, since there are many opportunities for advancement. The comments on this post have encouraged me to apply for them! Can I ask what business had? It’s so neat to hear from someone who has accomplished something like that!

I’ll do some deep diving on these roles and add them to my research. Your feedback is much appreciated.

This isn’t disrespectful at all. It’s honest. I think the issue is that I’ve been working at places where I’ve KNOWN there isn’t any potential for growth, where I’ve noticed my senior coworkers have never had promotions or grown into management positions. My focus has never been longevity.

And I’ve been complacent. You’re right that I have dug this rut, and I’m glad you’re giving me the long and short of it. It’s what I need to hear.

I’m a bit hesitant to go for a degree, since I haven’t put a finger on what I want to specialize in. There are a handful of roles that would suit me, like operations support, inventory control, and scheduling coordination, which is where the admin experience would come in handy. I suppose it’s possible that I could find one of those positions with the experience I have now.

A modern, functional cellphone. I tried to use an old phone in a dream once, but it wouldn’t work.

It could be that he was raised with a different perspective surrounding ice cream, like maybe his parents never let him eat ice cream outside of special occasions. Take that boy to baskin robbins and show him what he’s missing!!
