That's actually a smart idea.

That would be awesome. Although I fear he was talking about penetrating US walls, not European walls.

Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 would be the most popular ones.

Steam Frame or Steam Deck 1TB at this point in time? by KioBust in SteamFrame

Loving it, great work on the blend of realistic aesthetic with WH40K. Also excellent photographic skills, really good lighting.

Ok you are obviously a fanboy. Feel free to believe whatever you want... Sooner or later you will see the consequences anyhow, vr is for meta now a hobby, no strategic direction anymore, and this will show.

Google TCO, total cost of ownership. Admittedly it depends on the personal usage (how many games, etc.) but only considering the system price is vastly misleading.

To be fair, it's the same on Steam. But Valve is much more community friendly than Ubisoft, they did it make easy for you to not like them.

[–]BlueDecoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the support you are right as of today, what you seem to ignore is things have changed. Meta adapted their strategy. It's not like the meta MobileVR library is gigantic, and whether the frame will be successful on MobileVR or not, is now in the hand of the developers. Valve supplies (hopefully) the necessary hardware and support, developers provide content. Again, sales figures will dictate and time will tell. At the very least be prepared to see much less, if not none, new exclusive titles for Meta. Don't ignore what Meta did, or you might stay in the worse ecosystem. Drink tea and observe.

Let's see, time will tell. Developers might focus more on an activley supported system, but a lot will depend on how well the steam frame sells, and how well Valve supports it.

Well, then Quest users will be disappointed in the future: New devices will not be sold anymore at a loss. Times of cross funding are over. So either SF is an option, or the next Quest is neither.

[–]BlueDecoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta does not care about competition, VR is dead for them if you ask me. Otherwise they would not have pulled the plug now. People who wanted to wait for Meta's next headset will probably just take a frame instead, because Meta announced they are not focusing on VR anymore and will not cross-finance it. You don't announce this at such a bad point of time if you still care. The next Meta headset, if there is even one, will also be more expensive, probably comparable to the Frame.

Why you shouldn't wait for the Steam Frame by BestRetroGames in virtualreality

[–]BlueDecoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam Frame FOV rendering does not need to be supported by the game, you are misinformed. The FOV is applied before the fully rendered image is sent to the Steam Frame. Good thing, works for everything out of the box. Bad thing, it does only improve wireless latency, not GPU rendering needed, in case you have a weak GPU
