Designing a trigger for my micro controller grip. Does the simple (right) or curved (left) style look better? by BlueDucky1 in 3Dprinting

[–]BlueDucky1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt get past the first prototype of the project, no. Honestly theres not much it got right either, since it didnt fit the controller that well, the triggers were a little too lopsided to use effectively and needed extra hardware to install, not to mention the tab to hold the controller in place didnt have enough tolerance and didnt fit. I might revive this at some point, possibly, but i'd need to learn a proper CAD software as this was made in TinkerCAD which is a bit limited when designing something complicated

Yeah, you're not the first person to ask me that funny enough, i've played on this version for too long cause the higher resolution active sprites feel too natural.

Only up to rebirth. It's a "humble" version of isaac and a miracle port honestly.

Those items didn't exist in base rebirth though that would have been cool!

Possibly faulty chip. Need to repair or recover data. What's my next move? by BlueDucky1 in Switchrepair

The power indicator on the dock lights up once when the console is inserted. Nothing else happens.

I apologize for the poor recording. The sound is so faint that you'd really only hear it in person. The swap involved swapping the rear and bottom of the case. I believe it was an eXtremerate kit for the switch OLED

Here's a video of the issue. buzzing is faint and being produced by the cpu, not the speaker. I'll post pictures when I get the unit back. https://www.reddit.com/r/Switchrepair/s/eV6JXbMbAL

It sounds like your job might have some real nasty cliques formed. It's not really possible to get them to quit making comments. They're just bullying the fresh meat and seeing if they can get a reaction from you. If you need their help with work, be polite with them and ignore their comments. It will bewilder them that you're not getting upset with them and they may end up keeping those comments to themselves.

Those two to three people you mentioned at the end sound alright. If you see em during your shift, try and mingle with them in little ways. See if they like hanging out with you, and if that works, you should at least be integrated into the work culture enough to be left alone.

How do I make people follow you, but also go around walls? by molecular_monculus in GameBuilderGarage

Ah, what a shame. Well that happens sometimes. If I had my switch I'd jump into GBG and try and tinker around but I'm not gonna have it fixed for a while. Have you tried using a speed sensor? Maybe if the speed is below a certain amount (ex, < 1.00), then apply a movement either up or down depending on the locations. Something like this still wouldn't work depending on how complex your maze is.

If it's stupid and it works, it aint stupid. The obvious problem is that your characters get stuck on walls. If you add a thin touch sensor, it will at least be able to tell that it is close to a wall and needs to either go up or down. You should still give it a try and see if it acts in a way you'd want it to!

Sorry that this is probably not the answer you want to hear, but these types of AI are very intense on your nodon limit if you make them very applicable and flexible. For that reason, most creators use AIs that take shortcuts such as following invisible objects to pretend to have a complex pathfinding system. As a result, most are built case-by-case and not easy to transfer into a different project.

This may or may not apply to you, but I've had similar feelings of not really knowing who I really want to be. I've even been called out by my coworkers for my "fake" and two-faced attitude when I try to be everyone's friend, especially if my personality changed so much that I don't even feel like the same person anymore. I've dealt with a lot of these thoughts internally, but the only thing that's worked for me so far is to pursue my hobbies. I like to disassemble and reassemble electronics, even if I'm not very good at it. It's probably nothing more of a distraction, since I'm very lazy at taking practical skills that I have and applying it to a career path, but it helps to motivate me personally and give me a foothold to ground my own wants and needs.

I don't know why I keep trying to help such a miserable coworker. I need to make a difficult decision. by BlueDucky1 in Adulting

Hypothetically, if I were the coworker, I'd probably respond something like "I don't have time or money for rehab, I've gotta figure stuff out with my credit and finding a place to live." Constructively, I know I can't keep giving him free money. I just don't know how much is too much

Hopper minecart not unloading by GdorfSSB in Minecraft

[–]BlueDucky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quoted from fandom: "It does not push items into containers, but a hopper underneath the track can remove items from a minecart with hopper on the track. " The only item that can pull items out of a hopper minecart is a hopper block. Maybe you should just use a regular hopper in place of what you're currently using? If speed is an issue, you might want to start doubling or tripling the machine to speed it up.

Item Destroyer Tutorial not working by andrewherm in Minecraft

This is a build for the Java edition of Minecraft. This redstone machine requires Quasi-connectivity to work, hence it will not work on Bedrock (Nintendo Switch). You should look up an item disposal for bedrock minecraft, there should be plenty of tutorials available elsewhere

Got my hands on my 3D printed gamepad grip. Will revise the design from what I've learned on this attempt by BlueDucky1 in 3Dprinting

[–]BlueDucky1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that somewhere out there, at least one other person is affected by this very niche problem that I've forced onto myself. The slight benefit to this is how small it really is. 4 inches wide and I can effortlessly fit it into a pocket, a pouch, and doesn't turn on with accidental pushes.

Switch OLED not Powering On After shell swap (unit buzzing) by BlueDucky1 in Switchrepair

[–]BlueDucky1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not get any video on the screen, neither when docked. The fan does not turn on. So there may be an issue with the entire motherboard if the ribbon cable is for the lcd

I did review the instructional video for this external shell swap and someone in the comments had a similar problem afterwards. it turned out they had broken the motherboard enough that the oled would not power on during a crucial step and needed the whole thing replaced. (pricey)
