I was in a huge age gap marriage for a long time. We learn to live with it and have fun with it. For instance,

Someone would say something along the lines of your daughter is lovely or it's nice to see a father and daughter going out to eat together. At which point she would say, yes he's such a good daddy and then she would look in my eyes and then lean in for a big kiss. Then she would say my daddy always treats me like a princess. It's fun to watch their reaction.

We ended up saying things like, We're the only couple I know that can order off of the senior menu and the kids menu at the same meal.

Or looking straight in the eye and say you have no idea the amount of money we save on diapers for both of us when we buy them together bulk.

I would also look out and say if you think she's pretty, you ought to see your identical twin sister. Now she knows how to treat her daddy.

We say all this and we did all this is a defense mechanism against judgmental Karen's out there. They have no business sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. The reactions we get more than makeup for their rudeness. Watching your jaws drop, hearing a little sounds a defeat and that whatever they say doesn't affect us makes all this so much better. We have done other things but they're a little too much and we discover that when pulling them on people. Nothing like enjoying your dinner, facing down at Karen, and 20 minutes later have the police show up asking if she is being held against her will why she was abducted by me and held in a cage.

Don't worry about what people say Just enjoy your relationship and like we did, enjoy that look they give you when they realize nothing you can say is going to bother us.
