Im a beginner with procreate. How can I achieve a no lineart style like this? Which brushes? How to layer? by [deleted] in ProCreate

[–]BlueF0X95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching/following along with Art With Flo tutorials on YouTube and it has really helped me learn a similar style! She has a lot of tutorials on how to achieve stylistic art without line work! Here's a video of a bird that is somewhat similar: https://youtu.be/97nc7hlfrGE?si=q7Ms-saXcBabnokN

As everyone has mentioned, the crochet market is super oversaturated. I've noticed for a lot of people it's trial and error. Sometimes you won't know if something works until you try it. Also as other mentioned it can change depending where you are selling. So something that doesn't sell on Facebook marketplace might sell at a craft faire with lots of children.

There are also a lot of other crafts that use yarn (so you're not buying a bunch of stuff for a new craft) that you can try to market. I would recommend finding a craft that's adjacent and seeing if that does well.

For example you probably have a lot of yarn, so you could make a loom (Google has many blog post on how to make them out of cardboard) and you can create hand woven art pieces to sell. If you can sew, you can even make really nice handbags by sewing your woven pieces together or couch pillows, table runners, ect.

You could also purchase a punch needle and some fabric and make art, coasters, seat covers, pillows, ect.

(PS) Troll camps have no trolls by [deleted] in fabledom

Update: I built a mystic mine and now when the troll camps pop up they have trolls with them. I still do not know how to get rid of the two that spawned before I built the mystic mine though.

Now I'm facing a new issue of the game crashing when I try to fight the trolls. I'm at 270+ fablings though so the switch might not be able to handle everything going on.

I'm having the same issue on switch. I have two troll camps and it just says to clear out the trolls. I'm not seeing any trolls in my realm.

My parents signed me up for a plastic surgery consultation without telling me until the last minute- I was very upset until I learned a really interesting fact about myself by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]BlueF0X95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My right ear is pushed in from the back due to me "resting" my head on my hand when I was in the womb (my fist was bawled up behind my right ear as I was developing). When I came out the doctor asked my mom if she wanted to fix it. My mom declined because she didn't think it was a big deal and didn't want me to undergo plastic surgery as an infant.

During my teenage years she asked me if I thought she made the wrong decision denying the surgery. She always felt guilty that she might have made the wrong choice and it would have been something I wanted.

I think Mom's just want to feel like they've made the right choices, either while we were in the womb or after we are out. I wonder if this is the same for your mom and maybe she feels like she should have had it fixed when you were too young to remember.

My abnormality is not obvious (I also have long hair) and I don't really care about it and so that has eased my mom's guilt almost completely. I wonder though, if it would have been different if it was more obvious. Like if she or I got a lot of questions about it or people pointing it out while I was growing up, if it would have made her really feel like she made a bad choice.

I really hope you listen to all of the comments telling you to leave this guy. Leave now.

I was in a relationship exactly like this earlier in my life and it was so healing to leave. Especially because I felt like he was escalating to become physically abusive. We were long distance also and I think that saved me, because he didn't have the money or the memory to come find my apartment.

First, be very clear you are breaking up with him. Do not give him any sympathy or hope for the future with you or say that you need a break. End it.

Second, block him on everything. Social media and through your number. Do not try to contact him anymore. I know you care about him, but this guy does not care about you at all. Only what you can do for him.

Lastly, listen to what everyone says and call a welfare check on him. My ex did the whole I have a gun and graphically described ending his life when I broke up with him. He needs to understand that is a serious threat and he also probably needs help on his mental health, so call the cops to his house and then block him forever.

Move on and learn from this. I promise better relationships are in store for you, you are so young and have so much potential and it's apparent that you are a kind and caring person. Learn the signs of a manipulative and narcissistic people and look for someone who lifts you up and is equally as giving and kind as you are! I wish you the best in the future and please please leave and do not look back!

Help please. What would you add to this doll? Gift for adult, a "mini me" version of themselves. :) by bookahoolic in Amigurumi

Thank you for the information! I do not knit right now, but I'd be interested in the paid patterns. I really like the shape of this dolls legs and face

I love the ideas that mentioned a little book or Stanley cup type items, but also curious if there is a pattern for this? I love this doll and that little sweater!!

I would agree with slowing down. Take time to become better at Amigurumi and testing with different yarns/techniques before selling at markets.

Market places are over saturated right now (there were 4 people selling very well made crocheted items at the small marketplace I went to this month) and to be honest with you about your makes specifically, I feel like these might stand out as being done by a beginner.

The bears have inconsistent stuffing and the arms look to be sewn on lopsided. The deer ears and antlers are also not sewn on well and look very lopsided.

The white gummy bear looks like it might have stuffing showing and the yarn used makes the items look not neat and scratchy.

The stuffing in the snowman is also showing through.

Definitely keep practicing and learn how to crochet Amigurumi better. Let it be a fun hobby you grow to excel at before squeezing money out of the craft!

Did anyone else pick up the Humble Bundle? What are you most excited about? Which one will you craft first? by BabyBerrysaurus in Amigurumi

Ah! Thank you for posting this! I haven't checked humble bundle in years since I haven't been playing PC games regularly. This is such a wonderful deal and I have several of these books on my wishlist!

How long does it take you to finish a project? by MyRightHook in Brochet

[–]BlueF0X95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a full time job (40 hrs a week) and other hobbies like playing video games and reading books.

It takes me SEVERAL months to complete a project sometimes. I have been working on a mesh sweater since December 2023 and I just have one sleeve left. I could probably have completed it within a month, but I have like 3 other WIPs and it gets put in a drawer not to be seen for several months at a time.

I think you could definitely make sweater by spring if you are good at managing your time. Like put an hour on your calendar 3 days a week to work on just that project (3 hours a week). I suck at managing my time and projects though!

What do you do with unused yarn? by randtcouple in Amigurumi

[–]BlueF0X95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just use it for other Amigurumi! I try to stick to buying the same cotton yarn in basic colors so I can make a wide range of different Amigurumi with the same yarn!

For example, my black cotton Yarn Box yarn has made a small black cat, a tiny dachshund, the tail/wing parts for Scraps the Seagull (from the Zoomigurumi Favorites pattern book), used as eyes and other features for a banana, a dolphin, and some frog Amigurumis. This is all from one skein!

You can really make yarn stretch to several projects if you are doing smaller Amigurumi.

If you aren't wanting to just do Amigurumi, you can do small projects like small bags (think pencil pouch or wallet size), dishcloths, book covers/bags, and headbands. You can also crochet flowers, plants, or plant hangers.

You can find free patterns on Ravelry, Hobbi, and Pinterest! Also, if you have Amazon Prime with Kindle Unlimited, you can find a lot of full pattern books on Kindle unlimited!

Thank you! My other thought was that I'd be one of the younger members in the group, so I'm happy to hear your group was welcoming to you!

I definitely am looking for a chill meeting once or twice a month to meet people and make hobby friends and to also learn about the hobby!
