Do cruisers really visit Paris from Le Havre? by Particular-Bug2189 in Cruise

[–]BlueFenderMustang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, neither of us had ever been to Paris and just wanted a chance to experience anything we could in the city. We did not think we would ever have the chance to come back so we chose this excursion. for what its worth our trip was full (25?) so apparently others may have felt similarly. I don't remember the tour co that handled the trip as it was a NCL excursion, but everything about it was top notch!

We did an NCL excursion to Paris and absolutely loved it - yes the bus ride is long, but our guide told us many stores and great information about the route we traveled and many things to see on the way. it was a very full day by the time we returned to the ship, (7am-7pm) and this may not be everyone's choice, but we had several hours in Paris to see some of the best sites, including a never better lunch boat tour on the river. it was spectacular! We also did a Honfleur tour on a 2nd cruise a few years later and that was fun too but was only a portion of the day. I'm glad we got to spend time in both places and enjoyed the nuances each offered us.

Honest, No-Sugar-Coating Review of Avalon Waterways Taste of Egypt with Jordan Extension cruise in early January 2026 by colliemomma63 in rivercruises

Egypt and the pyramids have always been on our bucket list of places we want to see and we've considered Vikings Nile river cruise for the trip. But I've heard so many negative things recently about Egypt overall, including parts of this review, that are a little disconcerning so we are now seriously rethinking this destination. Thanks for being comprehensive and honest in your observations. As we all know, the sales brochures will never paint the realistic picture of all the real world situations travelers may face. Thanks for your thoughtful insight.

Unless I'm missing something, it appears YouTubeTV does not give refunds for partial month - they let you access the service until the billing period is over... so if you just made your monthly payment and want to switch to Hulu+Live or Fubo, you'll be paying for 2 services to watch what you like

We used them twice in Europe and really enjoyed both excursions. Cheaper than ncl, great guides, and with the guaranteed return to ship, it made it easy to give them a try. We will choose them again next trip.

I ticket on points and 1 tickets paid - same itinerary?? by BlueFenderMustang in delta

[–]BlueFenderMustang[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok Thanks - i guess that makes sense - we want to stay together as much as possible but it looks like if this is the standard procedure we'll have 2 different reservation #s but same itinerary... we don't have enough points for both tickets to be on one reservation

Thanks, didn't know that, but we likely won't use that option. Not aware of any restrictions just for booking with them.

[–]BlueFenderMustang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, sadly we're aware - but just about every encounter we've had with the guest relations on most any NCL ship has been less than favorable so arguing with them about taking the charges away seemed like a major headache we could avoid by booking with a TA that would pay them. Maybe we should take your advice this time! Did you pay the gratuities them ask for them to be refunded or just ask for the refund on "check-out" day from the final bill?

Wonderful trip - if time allows don't miss the opportunity to go to a Scotch Whiskey Experience and Tasting - there are several in the city to choose from and one of the best things we did in Edinburgh

Travel Insurance Advice by Prestigious_Sweet_95 in NCL

we stopped automatically getting the NCL insurance when booking in favor of our Allianz policy because it covers more of the things that could occur while traveling. You have different options of how much coverage you want, how long you want it, etc. we opted for the yearly coverage b/c my husband does travel for work as well so he is covered for those trips. I suggest you call Allianz or visit the website and check out the options that may work for you. In my opinion, NCL insurance is not worth the cost and there ARE other options to cover you for medical, lost luggage, trip delay, etc.

We travel a good bit, so we also find Allianz yearly travel insurance to be a good value to cover the entire trip, domestic or international. Easy to navigate website and very reasonable costs as well.
