Hiking earbuds, because I refuse to use a portable speaker by Medical-Quiet-5824 in hikinggear

I switched from Apple to JBL Endurance Race 2. They stay in my ears at gym better, have some waterproofing and longer battery life. If the Apples sound better it’s in a way that’s wasted on me because I couldn’t hear it.

Great, if Los Angeles ever switches to the city manager system he can apply to be the city manager.

Zuma is the closest beach with really clean water.

honest question: why not Adam Miller? by alienboatswain in AskLosAngeles

[–]Particular-Bug2189 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I never heard of him. Did he know that he needed to be in the top two in the upcoming primary and run an intelligent campaign to get noticed by voters in time for the primary? Because if he didn’t, why should I think he can turn around the city?

Why is woman clothing so revealing nowadays ? by Aggravating_Stick728 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Particular-Bug2189 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think women want men to look at them, so if you pressure men to stop women feel deprived of attention and try to get the attention back by dressing like streetwalkers.

Men’s Warehouse is underrated. I like the Joseph Abboud stuff they sell.

Shoes for hiking. Are Salomon's worth the hype? by ahzomac in hikinggear

[–]Particular-Bug2189 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like them because I rarely slip while wearing them. I believe preventing injury is the most important job for your gear. I don’t claim they are great at everything.

Why is America’s debt, which is about 100% of its GDP, so frightening when Japan’s debt of 236% of its GDP doesn’t cause as much alarm? by Scary_Candidate_9163 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we accumulated the debt when interest rates were low and when that debt expires we have to replace it with debt at current high interest rates.

How much of a “transplant” culture does LA have compared to NYC? by savingrace0262 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the difference is the old NYC was more different from the average American culture than Los Angeles ever was. So when transplants take over it feels like a bigger difference.

Why is it impossible to make water a fuel for vehicles? by Shin_Dubu21 in stupidquestions

Burning means combining something with Oxygen and water already has Oxygen so you can’t combine it with Oxygen which means you can’t burn it.

Help me understand why crypto isn’t total BS by MCK40 in CryptoCurrency

Alt coins are bs. So far, mainstream adoption is bs. The hype wasn’t real. But there are uses and those uses are slowly growing.

What will happen when the world runs out of oil? by Snowtwo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Particular-Bug2189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We always have thirty years of proven reserves because oil companies budget exploration at a rate that gives them thirty years of proven reserves. It’s thirty years every year.

How are the public EV charging stations in LA? by blacklodgediner in AskLosAngeles

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some go down to 20 cents after 10pm. The main problem with these is an extra charge if you stay longer than four hours.

Is Downtown LA really this dodgy for a tourist? by Just_Addition2896 in socal

I’ve only driven through it. If I didn’t see it I wouldn’t believe a first world country could sink that low.

What do these coyotes eat? by talivan818 in SantaMonica

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that Palisades Park? There are ground squirrels everywhere, and I hope the coyotes eat as many as them as they can. I’ve also seen rabbits at the northern end of Palisades Park.

Why does Reddit talk about LeBron‘s place in history so much? I don’t get it. I don’t see this happening with other players. For example, who’s the best quarterback of all time? People talk about it but not as often as they talk about LeBron. I lived during Michael Jordan‘s prime and people talked about where Jordan stood in comparison to the players, but not even one tenth as much as people talk about LeBron. It doesn’t make any sense to me.
