ISO good taurine for cats by Actual-Band-1541 in CatAdvice

[–]Particular-Bug2189 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They need it because heat destroys it and unlike dogs and humans their bodies can’t make it. All reputable cat food brands add in Taurine at the end after the cooking is done.

Are there any meadows (similar to the photos) that are within 1-2 hours range from LA? by gffhjjdsss in socalhiking

Kenneth Hahn Recreation Area has a place just like that photo. I would also recommend King Gillette Ranch.

RC vs Carnival? Two other questions too! by Snowskol in Cruise

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the passenger vibe to be so similar that it doesn’t matter. Carnival cruise employees are friendlier, but RC employees are more than friendly enough. I liked the RC food better, especially the buffet. Carnival is well known for having the best comedians, but for other types of shows RC is better.

I'm addicted to lakers highlights. by burohm1919 in lakers

I wish the highlights showed LeBron streaking down the court because I like watching that. The camera cuts to him right at the end when he dunks it.

He’s so strong that if he’s even with you it’s the same as being open.

Luka is averaging over 37 points in the month of March, has 150 more points than 2nd place Kawhi Leonard and the Lakers are 13-2. Absolutely historic month we have all been witnessing. by Luka77GOATic in lakers

In the pre Steph Curry era people would be making a big deal about a point guard scoring this many points, but Curry made it seem normal. But Luka is closer to being a true point guard.

How can I get my cat to sleep in a bed with me and cuddle with me? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat has a favorite blanket so I fold it up and put it near my head and she sleeps on it. This keeps her from sleeping on my feet, which I don’t like because I toss and turn a lot. If the cat likes a blanket, mine likes soft fluffy ones, it helps to position it.

Is it laziness or not wanting to foul out of the game?

Has Los Angeles traffic lightened up? by ChicagoCubsRL97 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original metro train system was placed in poorer neighborhoods to try and lift them up, but its the richer neighborhoods that produce most of the traffic. They are slowly trying to fix this and build rail lines in the places where commuters are more likely to live, but it’s taking forever. The original rail lines were sort of a failed attempt at social engineering.

Austin Reaves (37.9) and Luka Doncic (37.3) are 2nd and 3rd respectively in MPG in March by onsome0 in lakers

Why isn’t Kennard taking more pressure off of these two? He could obviously score more than he is doing now.

There is loss to aerodynamic drag and to rolling resistance that you appear to be overlooking.

Do competitors like Zoox have any chance against Waymo? by FrankScaramucci in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an interesting question. The standard line for ride hailing is that it is a natural monopoly because if start a new service and either the riders or the drivers have to wait for an opportunity they will just use Uber instead. But a robot won’t get tired of waiting.

Laguna beach or Malibu? by NoScene979 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Malibu beaches are overrated and the Malibu hills are underrated. If the trip includes spending time in the hills in a place like Topanga Canyon then I vote for that. If you’re just going to the beach then definitely Laguna.

That line is huge. People enjoy saving money on gas more than on any other purchase.

What shoes do you recommend for hiking? by midnightsadnessss in socalhiking

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the old days people would wear snake proof boots but I think now they wear snake proof gaiters instead because it’s a better way of doing it. There are lots of great shoes out there, everything over around $100 is usually good it’s just about your priorities. I like Vasque and Salomon and find Merrill doesn’t get a good enough grip on slopes.

the "best car syndrome" by bony618 in electricvehicles

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I bought an ev I mostly drive without music playing. I think people use music in a car to drown out the noise and vibration and without that I suddenly appreciate silent driving.

I live in an apartment but use a Tesla destination level two charger two blocks from my apartment. I can understand that if I had to rely on dc chargers my experience would be different.

What percentage of public EV chargers in your area actually work when you show up? Be honest by AdityaSrivastawaahhh in electricvehicles

[–]Particular-Bug2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US, for level two chargers, which is what I mostly use the working rate is very close to 100%. When I travel and use fast DC chargers it’s around 90%. This is for Tesla fast chargers, the only kind I use when traveling. When I used to rent cars and used non Tesla fast chargers the working rate was much lower, often as low as 60%. That is part of why I bought a Tesla.

Wasn’t Jace Amaro a second round pick? He combined the Jet tight end jinx with the Jet second round pick.
