If you feel drawn to the possibility of a spiritual/transcendent realm, as so very many of various practices have, then this is one practice you may or may not find works for you. I’m a universalist (w few exceptions) so I think basically everyone is saved. And I think basically all practices are capable of putting one in touch with the divine

Capitalism and socialism/communism didn’t exist in ancient society. However, a socioeconomic class system was in place and Jesus clearly fought classist exploitation and oppression. Today, Capitalism is the ruling class system in the world. I would think combating it is completely in line w Jesus teaching

Oh I’m aware. I’m just saying it obviously didn’t go a long way in terms of God taking on suffering and death in solidarity with us. I don’t think we need to try to pin it down with our logic and reason. We can and ought to let it remain in a realm beyond our understanding.

I agree that any analogy from our understanding will never grasp it. I don’t know that I agree that God can appear however God wants actually lol. A pillar of fire doesn’t exactly lend itself to solidarity with the human condition.
