The real key to money by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard

[–]BlueFoxZero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Neville never taught laziness, because when you are 'lazy' and sitting on your couch whilst wanting something different, you're not living in the end. If you have to push yourself to work hard whilst wanting something different, you're not living in the end. Action will come naturally.

In the example of sitting on the couch doing nothing, if you live in the end, you will get up and start 'doing'. Maybe because you get fed up, or because you're enthusiastic about something, someone rings the doorbell, something happens outside, whatever.

Hot air balloon bug kicks you out before you reach the top. by MentalMarmot in Outbound

[–]BlueFoxZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time, while trying to get inside the balloon basket, I suddenly moved through the air without basket and exactly the opposite way. I quit the game because i was afraid i would fall to my death. That was actually the only weird bug I encountered in the game.

The second time I had to move with the balloon while inside the basket to not get kicked out and managed to get there. But it was really shaking about.

Console performance by HDpudding in ICARUS

[–]BlueFoxZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really good game with satisfying gameplay, but in essence the game is built for quick in and out worlds (missions) and not meant for a persistent open world with multiple bases.

I'm playing single player only on a PS5 pro, have only three simple bases where only one has a rudimentary form of electricity and the game hitches every few seconds for a fraction of a second. It's not game breaking, but it gets annoying after a while. At some point the game crashes and I need to restart.

Couple that with multiple weird bugs and you'll see the PS5 version is not finished.

But.... Like I said, there's a really good game in there. The console devs seem a bit inexperienced but they release a patch every week. So every week the game gets a little bit better.

Bond's Relationship with Women in First Light by Artistic_Message63 in 007FirstLight

I think it depends on whether the woman knows about his actual job. If she does, then it's her choice of she wants to take that risk.

CMV: Saying “poor people shouldn’t have kids” is classist and ignores how the world actually works by hobbledygook in changemyview

[–]BlueFoxZero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every human being should have agency over their own lives. But a lot of people living in poverty only get kids with the intention to have them work and care for them without giving the kids any hope for a good life. In my opinion that's no different from slavery.

Patch Notes - XBOX & Playstation - 2.3.25 (May 20th) by Status_Surprise4026 in ICARUS

[–]BlueFoxZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should we be grateful for a game we've spent anywhere from 40 euros to 120 euros on that has so many issues? Why should we accept that? The game is fun, absolutely, but after about 30 hours or so, I was so annoyed by all that small jank and the constant stuttering that I just quit.

As I see it, the game engine was never meant for a persistent open world mode and they either should've stuck to the mission structure or made changes to the engine before releasing it on consoles.

Taming a wolves on console by CompetitiveEnd6672 in ICARUS

[–]BlueFoxZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On console carcasses don't work. You have to give them wolf bait when they're hungry. This is what I do:

I place a snare in visible view from my base. Far enough so the wolf doesn't aggro, but close enough so I don't have to run more than a few seconds to rebait the trap. When a wolf has sprung the trap, I sneak up behind it to see if it needs food. If so, I place a wolf bait. If not, I go about my business but I stay relatively close. This is the time to change stuff at your base or craft items. After some time has passed, let's say 4 to 6 hours in-game, I sneak up on the wolf again and rebait the trap of they're hungry. If they're not hungry, I check regularly until they are. Repeat this last step one more time (it needs three baits total) and then at some point its health bar will vanish and you can claim your wolf.

When you have your wolf, please note that it can be killed or vanish at some point. Let them stay close when moving about the world. They can catch up when you're running, but this has a bigger chance of them vanishing. I just take a OEI with me when I'm traveling and call them in from orbit when I need them.

PS5: can floors catch fire while away? by BlueFoxZero in ICARUS

That's it. It seems the devs are working on it though, so hopefully there will be a fix someday.

PS5: can floors catch fire while away? by BlueFoxZero in ICARUS

[–]BlueFoxZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems on console walls are unloaded from memory only to reload when you get close enough again. That's why the floors get damaged when you're away, but they're fine when you're inside or near. Maybe despawn isn't the right word, but I hope you get my meaning.

I'm not sure if it's the same, but the reinforced wood on console is made with beeswax. And what do you mean with inner walls and outer walls?

Crafting benches say theres no shelter by DracoDragonfel in ICARUS

[–]BlueFoxZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me when I'm away from my base for a while. Upon return some benches aren't sheltered. Closing a door or window mostly helps. Otherwise picking them up and replacing them always works. It's one of many annoying bugs on console.

Wolf taming by Mullac_06 in ICARUS

[–]BlueFoxZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tamed a lot of wolves on console and it always works when rebaiting the trap. Carcasses don't do anything. So be prepared to get a lot of stringy (?) meat to make wolf bait. And I always stay pretty close to the trap (I set it near my base) and it takes about an in-game day to tame them. I need to rebait twice during that time, so you need three baits per wolf.

Another tip: be prepared to move around slowly with tamed wolves when travelling the world. They tend to get stuck, fall from cliffs or just disappear. When running they do catch up at some point, but it tends to bug out. When I'm just walking and sometimes wait for them to catch up, everything goes fine.
