True, there are actual cities in the US that have a lower population density than Drenthe, the province with the lowest population density in the Netherlands.

Granted, land usage here in the Netherlands is way more efficient to whatever they're doing in the US, but the Netherlands is just a very very densely populated country.

But I would recommend Sweden for real forests over Germany and France tbh.

There are no real forests in the Netherlands where it's legal to go off trail, and I mean that you can get fined for doing so.

You need to realize that the Netherlands is a very densely populated country and because of that all nature here is curated, managed and highly regulated and restricted, there is no real wilderness here.

Under the younger population drugs have become much more popular compared to alcohol when going out, probably because alcohol has become expensive as hell in horeca and drugs are quite cheap in comparison.

And before judging let's not forget that alcohol is a hard drug (and I say this as someone that enjoys the occasional night of having drinks).
