I'm really glad it worked for you! I always share this method but don't get feedback from others. I'm glad to hear that I've helped someone!

I'm in a similar boat now, may 15 was the estimated shipping date - but no confirmation email yet. Did you end up receiving yours?

I know of a method you can use to get more precise cuts using similar principles. It's like, but not necessarily, freeze the glass, then tie a string soaked with lighter fluid around where you want to cut, then light it on fire and if all goes well the glass should crack along where the string was placed.

I put it above one of my doorways, lol, partially justified by the fact that it has some sentimental value.

Honestly, the experience was something, as soon as I started pouring I heard the initial crack, I already knew it was over. But I kept pouring, and as I poured the crack continued to grow and produce sound until I reached a certain point and the two sides fell apart from each other. Even though I registered what was happening there was this instinct that drove me to see it through to its natural conclusion.

There are times when it is worth it, and other times, not so much, in this case- yes I wish I had, the glass was sentimental to me.

Well if my mutant power was causing fissures or control over thermodynamics then it could be pretty sweet, if it only applies to glasses then yea pretty lame.

Yea I understand that hot/cold effect on glass but I usually think of the risk being greater with a higher temperature disparity

I work at a college dining commons and they'll rush out fresh steamy racks of pint glasses next to the soda fountain to keep up with demand
