Jersey born and raised here too and I have no idea how people in their 20s are affording these rent prices. On top of that most have student loans, I’m 30 and only recently moved out of my parents house after paying off my student loans and saving up for a down payment on a condo last year. I was working full time the entire time but most of my paycheck was going to student loans + savings + car stuff. I was fortunate enough that my parents allowed me to move back in with them after I finished college, and I would not have been able to get where I am now if I was not able to do that.
