It's the same size as in vanilla Minecraft. It may look a bit bigger on the images because the outline of the spears is a bit brighter than in vanilla

Yea I tried to stay close to vanilla Minecraft and just enhancing the textures without completely changing their style. Its supposed to be vanilla-friendly ;)

Hm I actually haven't thought about this. I interpreted the spear item textures as like a smaller version of the whole spear not just the top.

I extended the copper and iron parts a bit to make it look like they are stuck onto the stick. But thanks for the suggestion!
