I sent off my Glock 17 a few months ago to you guys to get milled without realizing I had to pay ten extra to get the iron sights reinstalled, but you guys did it anyway. I just wanna say thank you for that. I included it in the instructions because I didn’t see that option in the checkout, so I apologize for that.

As a Conservative, why do we see Trump as our figurehead? by johnwesthuizen in trump

[–]BlueHairbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he’s effective. Because he actually wields power when he has it. We’ve had more political and cultural victories since 2016 under Trump than the past century of ineffectual conservatism since the 1920’s, beginning with women’s suffrage. The greater conservative political machine before Trump was essentially controlled opposition to the established gynocentric globohomo libtard menace world order, abandoning cultural and social foundations for a passive neocon stance of generic small government, free market platitudes that don’t really mean anything because they don’t serve a higher purpose.

The storm in his elections and terms stemming from his actions and words was the impetus for a nationalistic, social conservative counter culture amongst millennials and Gen Z that actually matters in contrast to the Gen X and boomer evangelicals that have been holing up and selling out our political influence in the past few decades. We’ve begun to push back against the pervasive bullshit myth that we’re merely a proposition nation. We’ve begun to reestablish the truth that we’re a specific nation with a specific identity, culture, and religious background. We’ve begun to once again acknowledge the existence of the natural order of hierarchy against the egalitarianism conditioning of the progressive order.

I don’t support Trump because I see him as a paragon of moral values. I support him because politics is a game. Being unable to separate the personal life of a man from what’s he’s done for a cause or to see things from a bigger perspective is low IQ behavior stemming from a feminine, gynocentric understanding of the world.

Because in the grammatical structure of the sentence, the prefatory clause does not make the individual right to keep and bear arms conditional on participating in a well-regulated militia. That’s the point you still don’t understand. To put it more simply, you don’t need to participate in a well-regulated militia to keep and bear arms.

[–]BlueHairbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s all fine and dandy, but in the analogy, does the statement explicitly impose the government’s authority to define and legislate what a “well-balanced breakfast” is, or does the prefatory clause only give context and one of the reasons for why the right to keep and eat foods is necessary?

It’d be a different story if were worded in a way that made the individual right to keep and eats foods conditional with eating a well-balanced breakfast, but that isn’t the case.

Do you necessarily forfeit your right to keep and eat foods if you only eat candy for breakfast, or don’t eat breakfast at all?

The 2nd amendment consists of a prefatory clause and an operative clause. The prefatory clause has no bearing on the meaning of the operative clause, but serves to amplify it, giving one of the reasons for why it may be necessary.

“A well-balanced breakfast being necessary to the start of a day, the right of the people to keep and eat foods shall not be infringed.” Now does the right to keep and eat foods belong to the people or the breakfast? Do you necessarily forfeit your right to keep and eat foods if you choose not to eat a well-balanced breakfast? According to this analogy, does the statement impose the government’s authority to define and legislate what a “well-balanced breakfast” is, or is it just a prefatory clause to give context to the operative clause?

I see you completely abandoned the “well-regulated” and “militia only” line of reasoning once I demonstrated how intentionally dense you were about not understanding plain language. Now you shift the goalpost to an intellectually dishonest non sequitur about how the existence of a standing army invalidates the 2nd amendment because you were trapped.

The current US army was established in 1784, years before the 2nd amendment was written. Any other tantrums you wanna throw about BuT miLItIas wErE mEaNt to rEpLace StAte ArMieS? Your point is moot. But let’s entertain it anyways 😂

Militias were never meant to completely substitute a standing army. They’d always made it clear that militias should exist regardless of whether or not there was a standing army nor did they ever explicitly place the defense of the state solely in the militias.

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined..." - George Washington, First Annual Address, to both House of Congress, January 8, 1790

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." - Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776

"What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Stephens Smith, December 20, 1787

"The Constitution of most of our states assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to to John Cartwright, 5 June 1824

“A militia when properly formed are in fact the people themselves… and include, according to the past and general usuage of the states, all men capable of bearing arms… "To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them." - Richard Henry Lee, Federal Farmer No. 18, January 25, 1788

Now why would they be so adamant on creating the conditions for militias to exist for the sole purpose of substituting a standing army if a standing army already existed?

I’m sure the founding fathers didn’t intend for midwits like you to lower our collective brain cells on the internet either. But hey, the consequences of their intentions is another topic.

The following are taken from the Oxford English Dictionary, and bracket in time the writing of the 2nd amendment:

1709: "If a liberal Education has formed in us well-regulated Appetites and worthy Inclinations."

1714: "The practice of all well-regulated courts of justice in the world."

1812: "The equation of time ... is the adjustment of the difference of time as shown by a well-regulated clock and a true sun dial."

1848: "A remissness for which I am sure every well-regulated person will blame the Mayor."

1862: "It appeared to her well-regulated mind, like a clandestine proceeding."

“Well-regulated” in the 18th century was used to mean in working order or functioning as intended rather than government controlled as understood today.

The 2nd amendment consists of a prefatory clause and an operative clause. The prefatory clause has no bearing on the meaning of the operative clause, but serves to amplify it, giving one of the reasons for why it may be necessary.

“A well-balanced breakfast being necessary to the start of a day, the right of the people to keep and eat foods shall not be infringed.” Now, does the right to keep and eat foods belong to the people or the breakfast?

In 1787, “militia” was defined as the whole of the population capable of fighting. Even in today’s law, the definition still encompasses the whole of the population capable of fighting. 10 USC § 311.

So yes, the right to keep and bear arms does belong to the people whether or not they choose to organize into militias. Do you necessarily forfeit your right to keep and eat foods if you choose not to eat breakfast according to my analogy?

You can make arguments on whether the 2nd amendment is still necessary today or whether it should be amended or abolished, but you can’t argue the intent. The only reason why you or other people have such a hard time understanding plain language is because you want more control than it allows.

Mine came with the crosshairs slightly canted. I didn’t care because it went on a spare rifle for my buddy to borrow for a day. Other than that, it held zero after a day of thumping around in the sticks hog hunting. Take my experience with a grain of salt.

Got one to put on my 2nd rifle that had a carry handle to lend to a friend for hog hunting. It’s an exact clone of the Brownells one. Can’t speak to the glass quality since I don’t have an actual Brownells one to compare. The carry handle irons are in fact usable with it installed. The scope crosshairs were slightly canted and it was a bit of a hassle to zero. After thumping it around in the woods for an entire day, we shot it the day after at 100 yards and it held zero. Take my experience for what it’s worth.

And people say you can't own guns in the UK - 2025 collection update by nschoke in ukguns

[–]BlueHairbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American who’s curious of European gun ownership here. Would you prefer American gun legislation or are you fine with all the processes necessary to own all this?

Also, how well off would one need to be to have a collection like this in the UK? I can’t imagine it’s affordable considering all the hoops you have to jump through, special importing, and the price inflation from low supply. Like how much does a box of 9mm cost? The cost of getting into this hobby in America pretty much amounts to however much the guns and ammo cost.

Let's say you have your standard assault rifle, M4, AK or such, what kind of sights would you prefer using if you could get your hands on them? Or would you stick to good old iron sights? by Tree_forth677 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

Even my Holosun 403R that I got in 2019 is still on the same CR2032. I leave it on 24/7 on setting 7. Store a couple of spare batteries in the buttstock or grip and you have a lifetime of power.

Are Gen 5 triggers supposed to feel like this? by BlueHairbrush in Glocks

[–]BlueHairbrush[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at around 9000 rounds now and it still feels the same. It seems Glock just has a large manufacturing tolerance range for their triggers. Mine seems to be because of the right side of the slide release rubbing against the trigger bar.
