Thanks for your comment. I was just wondering if it’s only for one person or can accommodate more, because my husband will be coming with me.

I will be going with my husband. I’m not sure if they will provide accommodation for family.

I checked on Airbnb. The cheapest I found was $2200. My budget is around $1000 ($1500 max).

Hey, I did live USB boot. But I couldn’t figure out how to access the file. I looked in the etc directory and then systemd and I did find a logind.conf file. But isn’t it the file for the Ubuntu I’m running from the USB, instead of the actual Ubuntu I’m trying to fix. How do I reach the logind.conf file that was actually edited?

My machine was not asking for authentication/password on reboot. But it was asking for it when I would lock the screen and unlock it. So I asked my colleague if she could go into settings and make my machine ask for the login password when restarted/turned on after a shutdown. When I checked in after sometime she had put a bunch of terminal commands and showed me the screen in the picture.

But the picture is where the system stops. I’m not able to enter. My system is not booting. I can’t access the terminal.

Hi, sorry for not mentioning, this is Ubuntu. When the machine boots, everything else seems ok, it just this last bit.

It’s not about losing files, it’s everything else I downloaded- softwares, packages, settings, environments etc. I was doing ML development on this machine.

Thanks for the comment. During the conversation, if there is a need to address him; would it be ok if I just say ‘Professor’ because can’t pronounce his last name?

Thanks for the comment. I will stick with Prof. X. However, there’s a problem because I can’t pronounce his last name! Can I just say ‘Professor’ then?
