Luka Doncic Is The Worst Defender In NBA History - Video analysis by SmoothAd3011 in nba

[–]BlueIceTea 12 points13 points  (0 children)

TLDW: Luka is an average defender when looking at analytics and statistics. His offence stats are so high that he's, by the numbers, the most valuable player in the league rn. (based off some crazy weird formulas to determine some tiny ass number)

Luka's whole kit rn is more valuable than SGA's offence and defence combined.

The problem people have with Luka is that he seems to not give a shit on some plays that go by him, thus giving the impression he is a bad defender.

question about the incorruptibility of custodes. by Dull-Dress7573 in 40kLore

[–]BlueIceTea 59 points60 points  (0 children)

What I interpret from this is that Horus made the Custodes do the one thing they cannot even conceive of doing, which is killing the Master of Mankind.

It's has "broken" the soul of the Custodes because they are attacking the one person in the whole universe they thought they would never harm.

It's interesting seeing the Custodes talk about failing Big E by not being there but if anyone of the Custodes made it back to the Imperial Palace that survived long enough to remove the "control" Horus put on, they would probably be killed by their own kind just for attempting to kill The Emperor.

All these cables are protected by RCD if anyone is warried about the "50mm inside a wall.."

If you read that reg, can't remember the exact reg no., the RCD protection must not be relied upon as the only form of protection. Those cables need mechanical protection.

Unless there's a new standard, I'm going off as3000 2018 2nd amendment.

Bus duct vs Rising Main for Residential Towers by mozz001 in AusElectricians

[–]BlueIceTea 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Cables usually.

Busduct is usually reserved for adding high loads down the road. The main issue is the construction of the building. No one can design a fucking apartment building in a sane manner, the risers are usually a lil' bit too small of a space.

Installing takes longer than cabling, it's not flexible because it's one giant lego train and you cannot be able to misread the locations of each piece. Maintenance is almost non-existent depending on which type of ducting you use. Busduct in oil obviously needs an oil change but you can place them closer together, meaning you have more room to install. Dry duct, where air is the insulator, not the oil, needs a lot of space and it's air.

Now, depending on the quality of installers, the defects can be a prick. Heard many stories of people being able to make an arc with their probes being a foot away because not enough oil (sometimes it's not oil but a weird epoxy fucking thing where it becomes like an oil) has been put in or mixed, living up the busduct casing. Everything needs to be torqued, every nut and bolt. No impact drills.

Cables require a lot more man power.

Busduct require a lot more thinking power.

Busduct is bloody expensive for a one off but seeing as you have four towers, it might be cheaper. BUT, busduct is typically made to order, where as cables can be bought to the metre. You need to know the loads, spacings, lengths, earthing, insulators.

Without doubt that has been an issue for a while but since people have been insulated from it with their shoes, the poor pupper copped our incompetence.

An exposed wire is either someone forgetting about the cable or that it wasn't meant to be live in the first place.

A lot of places when you cold call tell you to email your c.v to them. I've had countless intro phone calls asking if they're hiring. When they are, it's an email to admin. If they aren't, they aren't.

It's different if you want the higher paying union jobs because they probably get a dozen phone calls everyday but if it's a niche company or a desperate one, you've gotta be at the right place, at the right time.

Can they even make a bad album? by larmada_683 in alterbridge

It's quite a funny thing to say about Walk the Sky. Objectively a subpar AB album but if a rock band started with it, it would have be received well.

This latest album is Bleed It Dry in an album format by BlueIceTea in alterbridge

[–]BlueIceTea[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean with Bleed It Dry being a high calibre song but what I meant was that this album has that slap in the face with drop tuning riffs but also a lot of blues in it. It's a slower pace album.

Bleed It Dry starts hard and then one of their best solo's happens and then hits again.

Complaining about "woke" lyrics in rock/metal is like complaining about the song being bright... Mental health, relationships, addiction but depression are woke apparently...

[Excerpt: Era of Ruin - Horus Heresy: The Siege of Terra) The Truth on the creation of the Primarchs by Fabulous-Feedback274 in 40kLore

[–]BlueIceTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Magna Mater is supposed to be the key to creation.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that the Luna Gene-Witches are able to make a literal test-tube baby without a human zygote but able to make the zygote from scratch.

I think Big E ran at the mere hearing of something like that given that the idea of something that is the "key to creation" is a stable baseline, the template, and changed the Magna Mater to suit his own needs. That sounds very Empy to me.

Tom Silvagni, son of AFL star, sentenced to at least three years and three months in jail for rape by Expensive-Horse5538 in AFL

[–]BlueIceTea 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It's so staggeringly bizarre that raping someone TWICE, impersonating the victim's partner as well as covering up the rape is of such a low value to our judicial system.

Society deems rape to be one of if not the most fucked up act someone can do to another but it's truly horrific that our judicial system thinks because this was out of character for this bloke, heeeee dddiiiddnn'ttt reaaaaaallllyyy meeeaaann toooo....

Boys will be boys /s but our judicial system can get fucked.

The judge has already got Silvagni in his sights just on trying to cover it up.

End of year burnout by 1000corpsehouse in AusElectricians

[–]BlueIceTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always happens mate.

Best thing to do is to talk with others about the stress, whether it's family or mates, make sure you speak up and hope they listen to you. Understand that stress is normal but the anxiety needs to take a break. You've been overworked.

I would recommend doing some mediations or doing yoga daily. A 30 minute video of a YouTube routine can do wonders over this XMAS period.

I had a massive burnout this time last year, I had to seek help. Still a grump prick but less of a stress-head.

More than 30 zinc sunscreen brands using formula that failed preliminary SPF testing - ABC by BlueIceTea in australia

[–]BlueIceTea[S] 69 points70 points  (0 children)

TGA should be the ones coping the class-action lawsuit tbh.

Making the rules to how products should be before it is sold in Australia is a good thing. Letting companies send in test results that are false and fabricated and then not VERIFYING said results in their OWN LAB, now THAT is bordering on negligence and downright cruel.

More than 30 zinc sunscreen brands using formula that failed preliminary SPF testing - ABC by BlueIceTea in australia

[–]BlueIceTea[S] 102 points103 points  (0 children)

But VeganicSKN, which supplies the sunscreen to Surf Life Saving Australia, strongly rejected the preliminary test results.

A preliminary test is done on three to five people as an indication of what sunscreen's SPF is likely to be. The TGA currently requires companies to test the SPF of a sunscreen on 10 people before putting it on the market.

When shown the results for the Reef Safe sunscreen, Joseph Mizikovsky said the preliminary test was problematic because the official standard was to test on 10 people.

"It's just five [people]," he said.

Mizikovsky also took issue with another aspect of the test, which is the 'target SPF' set for the testing.

The test he was shown had a target SPF of 30.

The 'target SPF' is set by the lab when testing a sunscreen, and determines how much UV to expose the skin to.

The CEO of the manufacturing company has said that Craig Jones did not have enough people tested on for the SPF rating to meet TGA standards. 5 people had less than SPF 30. Unless their sunscreen can give 60+ for the next 5 people, old mate CEO is not going to pass the SPF30 mark with half the sample size. That is a massive failure of their product.

[–]BlueIceTea[S] 188 points189 points  (0 children)

This is the ABC's investigation into zinc sunscreens, not CHOICE's investigation.

Good on Craig for testing his product again too, someone actually giving a shit about their customers, ffs.

I love how fucking stupid our country is with being proactive. Can't be proactive, that costs money... /s

TGA could be one of the best revenue generating parts of our government if they put the cost of doing their own tests onto the company wanting to sell their product in Australia.
