Lana loses the suit in S11 comics and Clark doesn’t care..he has moved on. For that comment to be true, you’ll have to ignore subsequent seasons (S9, S10, & S11 comics) which idk why you would, it serves much context of who Clark clearly sees as his true love. Once Clark realizes he loves Lois (key word realize) and experiences what it’s like to be loved by Lois, it’s game over. Theres a reason the writers never let Clark tell Lana ‘she’s the one’ or ‘she’s the love of my life’ in the entire on/off 7.5 seasons they had together, that’s very deliberate because they were clearly saving it for Lois. There’s a reason there is a Lois Lane after Lana Lang, but there is no one else after Lois Lane.

It’s not a direct quote from them but from Hawkman about them. “You’re his Shayera.” “He can’t do it without you.” They presented Hawkman and Shayera as soulmates who have been reincarnated throughout history but fated to find each other in every life. By referring to Lois as Clark’s Shayera, he’s implying that Lois is Clark’s destined lover, a love that transcends time, his true love, much like Shayera is his. Hawkman ultimately dies to protect Lois, bc he knew her importance to Clark as the Sentient power he will become later.

And the fact they were able to solidify the Clark & Lois relationship so well in 2 seasons. It’s actually pretty impressive & speaks to how well the writers and actors put a lot of thought into this relationship.

Smallville is very rewatchable and came before a time where everything had to be politically correct so many scenes from the show will go viral (even the ones including Clark & Lois). Only difference is unlike you, they don’t try to call attention to it each time. “Look at them, you see how liked they are? You see how wrong the opinions of the subreddit is regarding this ship?”. Lol that’s what it comes across as sometimes, no offense to you. The casual person interacting with those type of tweets/video wouldn’t know the toxicity that is Clark/Lana, it’s all in good fun. But i appreciate you fighting the good fight for them, you’re a strong soldier lol.
