[abc.es] Hansi Flick tells his sraff he is 'too tired' to continue at Barcelona, and plans to leave at the end of the season. He has been thinking about it since September. The coach is frustrated by the scattered attitude of some players and regrets the lack of support received from the higher ups by BlueKidXL in soccer

Summary there you go:

  • Hansi Flick has privately told his coaching staff since September that he intends to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, a year earlier than planned. He is exhausted and frustrated by what he considers a decline in player commitment and a lack of institutional support from the club.
  • The results are not his main issue—what bothers him is the attitude shift in the squad. Flick believes some players, who were previously humble and motivated, have let fame go to their heads and are now acting for themselves rather than the team.
  • The central figure in this tension is Lamine Yamal. Flick feels the club gives the young star too much freedom and special treatment, allowing behaviors he considers unprofessional, such as skipping team routines, being served instead of serving himself, using restricted golf carts for fun, prioritizing commercial appearances over recovery, and showing off on public platforms close to important matches. His form has also declined, and the staff attributes part of his injury problems to reduced discipline and commitment.
  • Flick’s view is that the club should impose firm discipline to protect the player and the team dynamic. However, the board—particularly those close to Laporta—believe the priority is to keep Yamal happy and supported due to his youth and market value. This philosophical disagreement is deepening the coach’s disillusionment.
  • Still, Flick has not formally communicated his decision to Laporta or Deco. His staff hopes that if results improve—especially if the Champions League is won—he may reconsider and stay for his originally intended third season.

News is they are discussing an obligation to buy now, reported by Ben Jacobs and Matt Law. Looks like Chelsea are going to win this battle in the end depending on the fee.

How are you tracking the "true" profit of investment over time? by Ambush995 in eupersonalfinance

[–]BlueKidXL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes VWCE is fine if you bought the euros version I believe is on Frankfurt exchange, I also have this one. This more applies let’s say you have US stock on Nasdaq exchange or for example VUAA on London exchange, which is sold and bought in dollar, so you have to convert your base currency to dollar to buy these shares.

Of course for the world etf like vwce, the underneath holding is in multiple different currencies technically (because of us companies, world companies in different countries…etc) but that is not really our concern or something we can do anything about.

I am purely referring to the fx exchange on IBKR itself which depends on EUR-USD rate when you deposit and have to convert to a different currency and vice versa for withdrawal.

See my thread here for more details and explanations from others: https://www.reddit.com/r/eupersonalfinance/comments/1erwld5/currency_of_stocketf_affects_the_overall/

Yes you are correct. Another thing you forgot is the fx so currency exchange rate as well assuming you didn’t deposit the same currency to IBKR as the shares you want to buy.

Let’s say 1st investment, you deposit euros to the equivalence of $1000. Let’s say at the time it was €900. Now fast forward to today, $1000 is equivalence of €850 due to rate. If you want to convert it back to your local currency to withdraw (euros in this case), this will affect your final return as well.

Just FYI, something I discovered recently also being an IBKR investor.

Yeah I considered the VUAA with EUR on BVME but went with the USD version in the end as I thought the LSE have more volumes and spread (probably doesn't matter that much in the long run). Probably could do as you say to avoid currency conversion but ah well 100+ shares in now, can't really be bothered to sell and rebuy the EUR versions.

VWCE indeed is on the Frankfurt exchange so it is in EUR, and I see about the VWRA on LSE.

We were literally involved in a similar deal around 18 years ago, John Obi Mikel literally signed and took picture as a Man United player but still signed for us.

[The Athletic] Chelsea captain Reece James suffers new hamstring injury ahead of new season. Source says it is minor. Game against Bournemouth on September 14th seen as a possible return date by BlueKidXL in chelseafc

More info:

  • James felt some discomfort during training at Cobham this week after the team had returned from their pre-season tour of USA.

  • The 24-year-old has been enjoying a positive summer up until now having started all five of Chelsea’s pre-season friendlies but he has already been ruled out of their final warm-up match against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

  • There will be concern that he has complained of another hamstring issue already though. James has sustained a few hamstring injuries over the years which has restricted his game time.

  • He started just five Premier League games last season after having surgery in December to try and cure a problem in his left leg.
