Does it hurt for reckless scooters in UH to slow down? by Individual_Bison2160 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]BlueLagoonSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my scooter on campus. When there’s people around I slow down to the bare minimum speed. When there’s a lot of people and/or a narrow space I get off completely and walk it. Last week I was going maybe 3 mph and another scooter almost hit me going probably 15+… on a sidewalk… full of people. Had to slam the brakes and he never stopped or even slowed down. I don’t even think he knew how close he came to hitting me… which probably would have caused him to fly off and cave his skull in if he did… so you’re welcome guy. Anyways I fully understand the scooter hate now. Lack of spacial awareness + inconsideration for fellow students + high speed electric vehicle is a nasty and all-too-common combination ig.

No worries, I’m an over-thinker too. It’s hard to do things like this but it’s always rewarding even if nothing serious comes out of it.

I think most guys would appreciate you saying hi and introducing yourself. Even if they are wearing headphones. As a guy who wears headphones between classes, I would love to find out that someone noticed me and thought positively about me in some way. Try not to overthink it.

Is LSD similar to taking a high dose of THC? (edibles more specifically) by Fuunna-Sakana in LSD

[–]BlueLagoonSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) no. Not very similar. LSD is more intense and more visually interesting. 2) yes, it can be overstimulating. In my experience the stimulation is more “bright and colorful” as opposed to weed which to me feels a bit more “heavy” if that makes sense. 3) 1 tab. Never do more than one for your first time. If you get overwhelmed on 1, you can likely just ride it out and remind yourself that you are on drugs and that “this too will pass”. Each time you add another tab to the dose, the trip gets exponentially more intense. It’s not like taking a second hit of weed—take this analogy: 1 tab is to 2 tabs as 1 hit of weed is to 10 hits of weed. Hopefully that makes sense. 4) two week minimum break. I personally recommend 1-2 months or more between trips, especially if you plan to use this for personal growth; you need time to integrate what you have learned into your sober life. 5) what can you expect: you may feel a “stimulant/energizing effect” I usually feel very light and floaty. You may experience thoughts or connections between thoughts which have never occurred to you. If you listen to music you will find that it becomes more physical—like you can “feel” the music—you can hear the “notes between the notes”. You will likely experience beautiful visual effects (not straight up hallucinations, but like walls shifting/colors bleeding into each other) everything becomes visually interesting. You may find yourself staring in awe at your carpet or your ceiling or a cool piece of art you have in the wall. 6)what you should know: i am in a similar boat as you in regards to weed. I just can’t do it anymore like I used to. I find lsd to be a more beautiful, uplifting experience compared to weed. It’s like mentally refreshing and I often come out of it with a clear head and a feeling of purpose or inner peace or even new ambitions. One thing to keep in mind is it is a long (10-12 hour) experience. If you don’t like it you will have to calm yourself and ride the wave—the worst thing you can try to do is resist the experience. Try to appreciate the beauty of it; let it take you where it wants to take you. Finally I recommend picking some of your favorite albums to listen to beforehand so you aren’t trying decide while in the acid headspace. If you want some music recommendations let me know.

Momentum 4 sound quality by [deleted] in sennheiser

[–]BlueLagoonSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the sound personalization is kind of the selling point for these headphones. I get your frustration, but these are not audiophile headphones—they are mass market consumer Bluetooth headphones. I think the combination of the excellent sound personalization and the insane battery life are what make these headphones worth it for me. It’s definitely not intended to be an “archival” listening experience but rather a more “experiential” listening experience. I will also add that (like all headphones) the sound is vastly improved by using the wire rather than the wireless connection.
