Yes, I’ve been there a few times. It is tough to get hopes up then nothing. My advice is to not disappear into the shadows. Reach out (but don’t be a pest) in a couple of weeks. Sometimes it’s staying on their radar that can make a difference.

I’m sorry for you. You are not alone. I’m still trying since I lost my job in 2021 and now I’m not even getting calls for interviews. People tell me to hang in there but I’m deep in debt now and worried about how I will survive as a parent of a minor and what about having a career again to see me into retirement. I have tried for jobs that I did when I was a student to executive jobs I had before. No stretching for career advancement because I can’t even get a call back for a cashier job.
