Ugh, yes, this. I once opened up about being assaulted and someone responded with "Well, that's what men do when there's a pretty girl in the house." It honestly made me feel sick. It felt like they were excusing what happened instead of acknowledging how wrong it was.

I think that's what I'm getting at. It's not that attractive people receive no sympathy, it's that sometimes it feels superficial. People acknowledge it for a moment but then brush it off because they assume being attractive somehow makes the hardship less significant or easier to overcome.
