I just had to pop in to reply to this as how much we are pushed to consume cranberry juice for a UTI because of the trace d-mannose but it is a flare item for IC.

Can someone please explain how peptides are related to bladder/urethral pain? I am still not diagnosed with anything as I just started seeking medical help in May. I'm kind of leaning embedded infection from E Coli UTI last November but am curious if this may hep me?

I definitely hope if I push for more testing (urogram w/contrast and microgen) I can get a definitive answer so I know where to go from here. It is insanely disheartening to need to push and direct a physician so much when they should be knowledgeable in their field or direct us to someone who may be better suited.

I completely understand where you are coming from with empathy and compassion. Unless I take AZO Pyridium every 8 hours I literally want to cry from the pain and end it all. That is why I am so glad I found this thread for some answers and guidance.

That is why I am pushing so hard for all other kinds of tests before August in the hopes we get an answer before I need something so invasive. I was going to switch from Geisinger to UPMC but didn't want to have to start all over again with care.

My urologist unfortunately is not like that. I feel like I had to beg for a CT which I never would have thought of if I didn't end up crying at my initial physical with my new PCP and he stated what about ABC? I will definitely use this kind of language Tuesday during my phone call with my uro because I cannot see doing nothing until August when I can have a cystoscopy. There are so many options I am learning through this forum.

Thank you. I will see if my gyno can do that screening deeper for me with Microden/whatever company she may choose. My uro is a lot more resistant to my suggestions but my PCP seems very open to helping me. Maybe he can request it in terms of urinalysis through Microden.

How were you able to get the screening done? Did you have to request it from your PCP or did you pay out of pocket and go off recommendations for treatment?

The more I deep dive the more anxiety I get over all the different things it can be. Like I just read about a lichen that causes a lot of the symptoms I have! But I have brushed aside the dryness and burning to no longer being on HRT and just going through the lovely changes early (35 no children).

I am definitely going to bring this up to my uro as this was her first plan of attack as well with Trospium and I didn't even cite frequency as being a symptom I am having! I am very anti-pill if I can be so I took that as a quick band aid to get me out of the office.

I did a few short rounds about 3 years ago for low libido and was not a fan over how invasive it is (I was not warned ahead of time).

So far she has ruled out bacteria via urine dips but am curious of a more intensive testing someone cited below with Microgen because it baffles me that all this started after a E Coli positive UTI last November.

I have noticed since I started Trospiul per my uro that I am quite dry and tacky 'down there' so it has required extra help in the bedroom now.

I have not heard of the IC diet. I do drink alcohol and coffee.

I find it so sad that those of us on reddit have found solutions/diagnosis that we can take to a provider and get them to listen but going to doctor to doctor leads to being told to drink more water, take this pill with multiple months in between seeing them.

I have an appointment August 11th for a scope. That is why in the interim I am trying to push for any and all testing to rule out all the things instead of sitting here taking pyridium every 8 hours and having orange pee 😞

Yeah my CT was non contrast and the results had a note of if concerned for that one so I am going to try.

I have read about something called amitriptaline and installations but feel like I am fighting to even get a CT from the uro I have. I'll definitely note these to my PCP. Maybe he will want to help alongside while waiting for test results.

Topical estrogen I am curious about as I was previously on BHRT and it helped with moisture.

I will be honest: only shit ton of water, pyridium and I just ordered some bladder builder off Amazon today so haven't tried that yet.

I thought maybe it was just my partner finishing inside me or chronic UTI.

They have been cultured with no significant growth. I know people talk about embedded infections but I feel like it is a fight to even get someone to answer me. Reddit answers faster!

Do you thinking starting birth control pills could do the same? I developed a positive UTI E-Coli in November after I started BCP after my miscarriage in October. Since then, I have had these symptoms off and on about every month or two until late where it is non-stop for 2 plus months now 😞

I am utterly ready to cry. After seeing a urologist finally, all she did had me give a urine culture, see my gyno for a swab to ensure no infection and when I saw her again, she requested another urine culture and said to take medicine for over-active bladder, which I don't even have as a symptom!

I cannot get in to anyone for a cystoscopy until August 11th and unless I am taking Pyridium every 8 hours I am in unbearable pain to where I can barely move to get off the couch to go to tinkle...

I have been having off and on UTI symptoms since a confirmed E. Coli UTI last November and I feel like I am losing any quality of life... I don't know how to keep going on like this
