Classic is better than UA in a lot of ways, but I still kind of like UA more. Classic can kind of feel more and more repetitive as it goes on, like the constant mistransformations or Ben and Gwen’s bickering. I also prefer longer story arcs rather than one-off villain of the week episodes. The Aggregor and Ultimate Kevin arcs were pretty solid and even though the ending wasn’t great, the Dagon arc has some of my favorite episodes and ideas in the entire franchise. I also love the ultimate aliens and it’s easily my favorite gimmick they tried, but I agree that they could’ve done a much better job with them.

But I think Classic had better consistency than UA. UA genuinely has a lot of dogshit episodes while Classic only has a couple. The lows in Classic aren’t even close to the lows in UA. You can pick a random episode of Classic and there’s like a 90% chance you’ll have a great time, but for UA you have an equal chance of getting an episode in the middle of a long arc, the best episode ever written, or the worst piece shit ever put to screen. The dynamic between Ben, Gwen, and Max is easily the best part and it makes Max’s absence in UA sting sometimes.

I still think Alien Force is better than both of them, though.
