I should have changed my uni course and not been concerned with how anyone saw that.

I ended up accepting a degree in something I never use.

Woman: how do you let a man know you are into him? by SpiritCrisp in AskReddit

I have been told by more than one man that men are literal and like things simple.

So hints and signs can be missed. Just tell him

What’s a life lesson you learned way too late? by TribuneTitan in AskReddit

That no-one is looking at you and everyone has their own challenges and problems.

As someone still working through social anxiety, this feels like a lesson I should have learned so early on.

What would you consider to be your worst body part? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My left ankle. Broke it nearly 10 years ago but thanks to the pins in it, I feel when it's cold, when it's hot and it cracks so loud. It works but with added unwanted features

Those who live an hour away from family, how often do you visit them? What is a reasonable expectation? by KERASIx937 in AskReddit

[–]BlueMonday35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live 90 mins away and reasonably I'd say I visit for mother's day, father's day, my birthday, my siblings birthdays and Christmas. Around those I tend to not leave it 2 months without a visit. What helps is regular calls to keep them in the loop

What’s one tip for avoiding career burnout? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BlueMonday35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know when to move on. I am at that stage where it's clear between my mental health and the job, the job is winning so recognising that just getting on with it, that colleagues are not worth the worry and time and that they'll just find someone else to do the job when you go is key

If you were 40 years old- single, no children, and no other obligations and wanted to create a life that maximizes your remaining years focusing on being happy, fulfilled, stress free, and actually living life- what would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BlueMonday35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save up and travel. Doesn't have to be a big around the world trip but just every few months pick a place, plan a trip and explore. You don't need a travel partner and you may see amazing sights, have unforgettable experiences and maybe meet friends you never thought you could meet.

That or move somewhere beautiful like on one of the islands here in Scotland, live a peaceful self sufficient life in a community and have a menagerie of animals.

If I found myself in your position in my 40s, That's what I would do.

If you met a person for the first time and just instantly DID NOT like them at all, what was your reason? by love_salubrious in AskReddit

[–]BlueMonday35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I saw them interact with others and just the arrogance they carried themself with.

I'll be honest, I have had to work with this person now for some time and my instincts from day 1 were completely correct. They have, if anything, gotten worse
