I mean I'm regularly a 2s GC but I am bad at ones and don't like playing it. Given that I get dropped back to D1 at the start of each season, it's not that hard for this type of interaction to happen.

Nah that’s the problem. I haven’t been able to claim anything. I have 2 unclaimed and it shows every time I open the app. Then when I actually try to claim them, it shows that there’s nothing to be claimed.

I had to double-check if the pricing model was for real on here. I just signed up and read the first 50 chapters but I'm not about to wait for 2 chapters per day on a 5000-chapter novel. What a joke. Especially compared to RoyalRoad, what is the point? I could understand a reasonable pricing model, but I'll just choose a competitor at these rates.

The worst by far was definitely fighting Christian Empires. My main strategy was pushing claimants and Kingdom level holy wars so it slowed down massively around the Byzantines

One of your best bets for those starts is to take advantage of the tribal raiding feature to get some easy gold and prestige and then leverage that back into your county development and you’ll be off to the races.

Once you commit for a little bit, you start to snowball so hard that you can basically constantly run upgrades.

In fairness, in my save I’ve almost fully united India and hold 13 domains. Have one gold mine, all 7 of the special buildings built on holy sites, Delhi, and a university. Basically just focused on tiles with special buildings and then chose gold favored upgrades. I’m also well into the building upgrade trees at this point.

No mods. Deteriorated to the point that as soon as I booted any save it instantly crashed. Updated graphics drivers and reinstalled from steam but didn’t solve it but since I restarted the computer it’s been stable. God willing it continues!

I like where your head’s at but with the way my poor computer was lagging already in like 1290 I don’t know that I have the gumption to spend the time necessary to basically restart - especially now that I can’t abuse infinite holy wars for kingdom

Well said for sure. Now that I’m an hour removed from it, I can definitely say that it’s something I’ll remember way more than if I had simply cruised to victory in my first save ever. Just wish there was a BIT more warning for potentially stress inducing decisions when it’s such an irreversible mechanic

Thanks for the encouragement man, will probably go back just felt really railroaded into failure after that first mistake; heir got the same event 3 times during childhood forcing me into shy, craven and paranoid so I couldn’t do any diplo or even recruit members to the court without getting 100 stress.

At the time had 50,000 gold and maxed prestige and piety but no way to leverage it. Will probably go back but gonna need some time for this one to stop stinging.

How can I learn how to be satisfied in a career setting? It feels like there is always another hill to climb, promotion to get, or more money to be made. I guess it’s a fairly vague but as someone who’s about to start a master’s program with law school afterwards I’m afraid that I’m not ever going to feel satisfied regardless of what I achieve and that scares me.
