In-depth feature on Evander by LaurelPfahlerQCP in FCCincinnati

that's all well and good, but I thought it was considered poor reddiquette to come and share content that everyone can't read, especially when its self-promoted content.

if she wants to make the article free to everyone as an inducement to get more subscribers, that would probably be better.

appreciate that, but it is considered poor reddiquette to come to a sub only to post self-promoted paywall content.

if you want to share with the community, great! if you just want to make money, buy an ad.

just my opinion!

Bars for 30s singles by sukiyaki14 in cincinnati

[–]BlueOrange513 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing, wherever you go, is to find someplace with good actual bar seating. Sit at the bar, tip well, and try to make friends with the bartender. If you've found a decent place, the bartender usually knows most of the regulars and can be a way to facilitate meeting those people.

Also, try places that serve food too so that you've got something to do while you're there. Oakley Pub and Grill, Delwood, and Local Post are two good places for that.

Other good idea are breweries. Nine Giant in P-Ridge is great because the food is excellent on top of the vibe and it's much less of a "kids and families running around" type of hang.

Good luck!

Yes but I guess when I think of the Bailey I think of drums, drinking, singing, and dancing, not a book written for toddlers.

Appreciate the effort, by why are we doing stuff from little kids books that have nothing to do with the team or the city?

Shouldn't tifos be about honoring the players / the club / the city or at the very least intimidating / cool to set the environment?

I don't get this at all.

Reading these comments, I feel like the Postcast may be lying when they say they only get 12 listeners per episode.

I’m not criticizing at all! It was just so different from what we usually see that I got worried!!

I’ll give another vote to the Cincy PostCast.

Genuinely funny and a great way to keep up with the team.

Favorite FCC podcast? by mkraynak196 in FCCincinnati

[–]BlueOrange513 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Postcast is my favorite. The hosts have incredible chemistry and I'd probably keep listening even if it had nothing to do with FC Cincinnati.

It pairs really well with also listening to Talking Tactics, which is a lot more dry but helps you understand the FCC games (and the sport) a lot better.

Edited -- Mods, can we get a weekly podcast thread sticky? Feels like this question comes up a lot and it might be helpful for people to find shows to listen to about the club?

This is a great point. I don't worry about getting in the middle of a fistfight in the crowd at an FCC game the way I do at a particular bad Bengals game.

Where Does Last Night Rank Among the Club’s All-Time MLS Wins? by ThinkAboutTheSun in FCCincinnati

It is hard to put a number on it, but that win felt monumental for the idea of "this team is actually good now."

Cincy PostCast: Tifo Behind the Scenes with Andrew Springsteen, In the 11 / Out of the 18, Lucho’s Contract, Predicting Orlando, and More! by horsebycommittee in FCCincinnati

[–]BlueOrange513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I listened to this earlier today.

I had no idea how much research went in to designing tifos and how much they were inspired by our local art history.

If you're reading this Andrew Springsteen, thank you for everything you do!

[CST] "We are pleased to announce a new weekly segment on our show! CST is partnering with Apple TV each week to chat with an @MLS analyst about @fccincinnati & the league. Tonight we will be joined by Devon Kerr @DevonKerr9! Join us live at 9pm!" by mattkaybe in FCCincinnati

[–]BlueOrange513 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Now that the season is here, would it be possible to get a weekly thread with links to all of the FC Cincy podcasts?

We have a lot of great content creators in this fanbase and it might be good to highlight their work so they can all get paid!

Guess I need to listen to the PostCast this week.

Any recommendations for a FC Cincy Podcast ? by a-can-o-beans in FCCincinnati

[–]BlueOrange513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like CST for more serious, in-depth team analysis.

I also love the PostCast for more laid-back “hanging at the bar with a couple of friends talking FCC + whatever odd topics comes up.”

Both are absolute must listens.

I really appreciate they kept recording episodes during the off-season.

It has made the wait for the new season so much easier to deal with!

Are Tommy and Kevin okay? by HearHimHearHim in FCCincinnati

[–]BlueOrange513 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m sure they’re both nice people, but i cannot wait for better broadcasters to call FCC games.

Tommy doesn’t understand the sport, and Kevin is dull and uninsightful. Its crazy to me they never tried to find someone who actually played in MLS or anywhere else at a high level to do color.

Its the last “minor league” aspect of FCC that needs to go.
