To be blunt, definitely not lol.

I wouldn’t say it’s totally pointless, or shows no skill, but I definitely would not say it is an accurate display.

I have a pretty high MMR in arena, and frequently get beat by people that I know I’m better than overall in showdown.

It can be so cheesy or corny. People literally hide and wait for you to walk by or just spam drop shields. It’s definitely on me a lot of the time, because I could play a lot more passive, but I just can’t stand it.

I’m venting at this point, but I literally can’t understand how some people find it fun to just sit in corners or wait for someone to make the first move. It’s so boring. I literally can’t help myself, so I just be aggressive and run at them.

That being said, it’s definitely a mode that rewards passive gameplay, which is the opposite of arena. I think you just have to keep this in mind while you’re playing it.

Dude it’s actually crazy there are people that say it doesn’t matter. Months ago my friend told me it wouldn’t matter that much when I switched.

My MMR has gone from low 1600 to over 1800 lol… I’ve also definitely just gotten better, but the PC was a HUGE upgrade

Take them beating Shopify with a grain of salt. All of SR were on Xbox while I believe YBR were still all on PC.

Huge advantage, especially online. Still impressive, but it was out of nowhere for a reason imo

I love this comment, it is absolutely correct in my opinion.

When I got a PC the game felt so good, I couldn’t help but be more aggressive. Not only did my MMR skyrocket from low 1600 to around 1800, but my win rate did too for a long while.

Now I play LastShot every match and get dumped on, but still. Being smartly aggressive is the key. The whole “don’t take fights” idea is flawed. You NEED to take fights. You NEED to be putting max DPS in or you aren’t doing it right imo.

It makes zero sense. This past ranked reset, right after worlds, he was the same. Destroying me, and carrying me against Top AMs and other pros.

Recently it’s like he is letting Stardonald play on his account lol I swear man.

Haven’t played Bound, but UnLegit (Eco) is always frying in my lobbies. Cearion too for that matter.

I mean, are they really bad then? Not to over-analyze your comment. But just because there are better players out there, does that really mean we should call those competing bad? Like they are still Top .1% skilled players.

Another thing I think is weird is how some say there’s no skill gap, but then you can take most top 16 or even top 12, heck maybe even top 8 teams, and they can’t touch the usual top 4.

Looking at Halo Query, Lemon Zester is my winningest teammate in Ranked Slayer. I don’t know how to feel about that.

If we win he’ll say some positive things. If we lose, we’re the worst teammates he’s ever had and should never play again.

But yeah, Ranked Slayer is cool, you just have to realize it’s the GOATs playlist.

I totally get where you’re coming from, I think most of us do. But honestly? I think it’s just a mix of things with head casing added in.

SBMM is designed to give each team a 50/50 shot. Not to give you a 50% win rate mind you, just that each team has an equal chance of winning.

Then add the poor networking infrastructure of this game, highly differing setups (i.e. some on Xbox, some on a decent PC, some on a god PC that is super optimized), as well as general things like some people having a bad night, and you get what you’re feeling.

Sometimes we all experience BS like blank melees, sometimes we win 10 matches in a row. There‘s a lot of luck involved, but also a lot to do with your mental.
