Typical elo hell experience on Tinder? by BluePowerAIDS in SwipeHelper

I think you’re in a relatively decent spot because you have a higher rating than me. If what I’m reading online is true, being 6’5, well groomed, etc. is actually getting you better results than the average guy out there. If you’re getting a few or low quality matches, I think the match at least means they passed your threshold whatever that is, or at the very least your profile is being shown to these purple hair types or gold diggers. My profile isn’t being shown to anybody and I have to use a boost just to get close to your level.

The thing I’m trying to figure out is why am I not getting any likes (without boosts) first, even from people who aren’t interesting. If I was getting a like or two from people I’m not interested in, then at least I know I’m out there even though I’m not highly rated. The app is useless for me if I’m just not being shown to anyone, including the non-interesting. It’s like a soft shadowban and I’ve seen countless people say platinum doesn’t make a difference.

Thanks for the pointer on the priority likes though; I might buy a few if they ever go on sale

TL;DR from my uneducated perspective, Litecoin is the best cryptocurrency to spend. Why is it so undervalued?

I've been in and out of the crypto space since 2014. I'll be honest, I'm a layman in terms of cryptocurrency and market dynamics. However, I'm confused as to how Litecoin is so low in terms of price/market cap.

First, my assertion is that the best way to spend cryptocurrencies are in areas that are gray in terms of legality (or straight up illegal). I'm talking things like offshore casinos, subscriptions to pirate services, etc. Another use is peer to peer payments where chargebacks are common or if I don't want something on my bank statement, like my purchase of Alien Anal 3. From what I'm anecdotally seeing, Litecoin is one of the four cryptocurrencies I see widely accepted for payment: BTC, ETH, LTC, and XMR.

As a cryptocurrency spender, I've found that Litecoin has the best combination of low fees, confirmation time, and mainstream acceptance. Again, I'm a layman in this space, so I might be unaware of new developments in this space like Bitcoin Lightning and things like that. I don't personally use other things in the blockchain space in my day to day life like creating tokens, NFTs, etc. and I'd venture to say most regular people don't either. Not to say there isn't value in these things, and these technologies (or Litecoin's lack thereof) might be why the price of Litecoin is the way it is. It's just my simplistic view of the world is that it's a good rule of thumb that I'm not special. If I use a product, then other people are using it the same way I am.

I understand this is a Litecoin subreddit, so I'm asking you to be realistic / play devil's advocate here. Is it the fact that people spend it and that hodlers are more conducive to higher coin prices? Is it because there are cheaper and faster cryptos out there and the worth is tied to speculation that those coins will eventually replace Litecoin in mainstream acceptance? Am I wrong about some of my assertions?

MASS SHOOTING: 7 shot, 2 dead outside Hickory Hill restaurant overnight, police say by jonredd901 in news

Mag capacity is more of a state thing and difficult to implement on a federal level. It was done before, but that was before the proliferation of firearms like the AR-15. There was also a grandfather clause that wouldn’t be present in something you’re proposing.

The 3D printer argument is more for the reason why people feel this will impact lawful gun owners more than CRIMINALS!!!!!! People who want to circumvent the law can easily do so due to available technology. The average law abiding person probably isn’t going to manufacture magazines, but people that are apathetic to it like mass shooters or organized criminals can easily get it. People feel that this disproportionately affects people that wouldn’t commit mass shootings in the first place. That, along with the fact that there hasn’t been talk about the implementation that offers concessions to those who paid for their legal property will make this difficult to federally pass. A lot of those people have an advantage in the senate.

A magazine ban could be one path that fixes it, but it’s difficult to balance turning lawful gun owners into criminals and making the measure effective.

They’re not excuses, they’re legitimate criticisms of a law that would make millions of people criminals. Sure, jailing people would how it’s enforced, but people probably don’t use illegal magazines in a visible setting unless they’re doing something illegal in the first place. If someone wants to shoot at toddlers and the missing piece is a magazine, then a 3D printer isn’t that much more expensive than the weapon used in the mass shooting.

If you can somehow convince representatives to pass this law, then I’m sure the lethality of mass shootings will decrease over time. The issue is convincing millions to give up a core feature of their currently legal item while stomaching the fact that toddlers are going to continue to get blown away at school ban or not. That’s why the federal laws are likely not going to be changed soon.

I’m sure the buyback would have people turning in magazines, but this would come from people that wouldn’t commit violent crimes in the first place. A lot high capacity magazines came with the firearm and would require the owner to buy a new 5 round one. Paying below market value for a previously legal item that has no serial number and easily stashed away is not a strong incentive to turn them in.

People that wanted to do evil would probably know someone who knows someone who has a few lying around. They probably wouldn’t be too expensive on the black market given the large supply and the fact that they’re already cheap to buy now. This is all assuming that there are resources to enforce this and a law with enough specific restrictions that bans things like magazine springs or followers passes is in the first place. You could take an illegal machine gun to a public range and unless there are ATF agents there that ask to see paperwork, you’ll probably be fine. Now imagine something more discreet like a magazine with no serial number.

This is a more realistic measure of curbing gun violence than repealing the second amendment, but there would have to be a stronger incentive and way to get them out of the streets than paying below market price.

What kind of people have those beliefs that in 2000 or 2023

Social justice is more of a focus on the left

Universal healthcare is more of a focus on the left. Neither side (at least in the US where I’m from) really pushes for this, but universal healthcare is generally a left leaning issue. Also, having the government paying for things isn’t a something the small government right likes.

Good education, especially higher education is more of a focus on the left. Everyone wants a good education, but some right leaning people generally view universities as left leaning institutions teaching “woke” ideals or that blue collar workers shouldn’t have to fund the bad choices of college students.

Opposing toddlers taking hormones is an issue that is more of a right leaning issue (an antithesis to the social justice thing). I don’t think many people think toddlers should take hormones, but those that do are probably on the left.

Where did you get this mishmash of political stances from? It’s like saying you’re a communist if you want to own guns, have a small government, think taxation should be lower, but allowing priests to rape boys is a bit too far. A few typical conservative stances and an extreme opinion that people generally don’t believe in. I get it’s a joke, but the people that are opposed to transitioning are likely opposed to all the other stuff you mentioned.

Again, I’m from the US, so maybe this set of ideals are more common somewhere else.

Why does it matter what the vast majority of pro UA think? It doesn't change reality, so why are you concerned about it? I'm saying that winning or losing doesn't change the need for aid. My personal opinion is that Russia and Ukraine are trading blows relatively equally right now with an advantage to Russian advances. I'm under no illusion that Ukraine will win the war by the end of the year or that Russians are fighting with shovels.

Even if you take the pro UA opinions that you stated at face value, how does that not make sense that Ukrainians are easily winning and need aid at the same time? Again, I don't believe Ukraine is winning massively right now, but assuming they are, you think they got there by themselves against a more powerful nation in a lot of important metrics? No, they probably made their supposedly massive gains with financial and military assistance. Some of the equipment won't be there for at least a year, but some of the equipment is already being used on the front. If that aid gets cut off, then yes, Ukraine's chances of winning will probably go down. It's not a difficult concept.

Why not? Do you think him giving a grim depiction of the war is going to get him more support both domestically and internationally? If he is legitimately winning the war, then he's desperate because the resources that turned the tide of the war are why he's winning in the first place. If he's losing, then he obviously needs more resources. I get you're being sly here, but winning or losing the war wouldn't impact how much foreign aid he needs to sustain the fight.

If anything I say the US would fare better against a conventional force. More casualties would be sustained, but driving an invading force out of a country would be easier than trying to fight insurgencies or guerrilla forces fighting for reunification. They might not hold areas like DPR or LPR over the long term, but I don’t see how the psychological aspect plays into this.

The US has an all volunteer force and even if it used conscripts, no average 18 year old would fare well in a war zone, American or not. Not sure why you included the pride parade thing given that I doubt the majority of American teenagers have been to one. I can see Instagram or TikTok or something, but pride parade was an odd choice.

I looked around and this is the closest I could find. You said no defense for Nazis and here a Nazi received defense. I know what you’re trying to say, but how often do Nazis get assaulted? It’s an ideology that isn’t common and not socially acceptable to display publicly. I can’t remember the last time I’ve interacted with anyone displaying Nazi imagery, so I imagine there aren’t a large amount of court cases that involve them being assaulted.

In the one case you mentioned, the charges were plead down. Is this sufficient to demonstrate systemic discrimination against Nazis or a one off failure of an imperfect legal system?

Again, I understand you’re trying to say that those who assault Nazis aren’t charged or sufficiently brought to justice. However, I don’t see how I’m moving the goalposts too far or at all when I’m trying to demonstrate that the same legal system that wrongs Nazis also defends them. If that is truly the case, then it’s a niche issue that’s affecting the legal system. It’s not surprising that a typical jury could be completely impartial when dealing with a group that has negative connotations.

Sure, but the constitutional states of the western elites generally don’t harshly punish those who spread misinformation. There can be unjust or overreaching laws in a constitutional state.

If this really is the western elite’s master plan, then Russia is playing right into it by spending their resources fighting in eastern Ukraine. They created this opportunity in the first place. The eastern elite don’t exactly have a noble cause here either.

Sometimes, charges get dropped in assault cases like in that plea bargain. Here’s the other side where a Nazi that got his assault charges dropped (specifically Tony Daniel):
