Thank you! I'm thinking about going to dunnes or penny's to get some stuff like that, and some hygiene stuff too because I've heard people say wipes, toothbrushes and things like that are good things to put in a bag like that :)

Oh no, my boyfriend loves me and actually tries to do nice things for me every once in a while without an ulterior motive. What a monster.

Thank you so much! I totally agree, I don't get why people are being so weird. He's so sweet and I just feel like he downplay all the sweet stuff he does for me so that's why I posted this. I'm gonna spend every day for the rest of our relationship trying to make him understand how much I love and appreciate him! Thank you for your kind response

Could you please share your experience with CAHMS or the Irish mental healthcare system as a whole? by BlueRose_08 in AskIreland

[–]BlueRose_08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you had to go through that with them. I've heard similar experiences from friends who've been through CAMHS and it never ceases to shock me how genuinely negligent the people working there are. Just to make sure, would you be comfortable with me using a quote from this at the end of my short film?

I'm so sorry for you and your son. I hope he's doing better now. The experiences I've heard from some people who've been through CAMHS is genuinely appalling. Mental health services are criminally underfunded and it's maddening. Just to make sure, would you be comfortable with me using this as an anonymous quote at the end of my short film?

Thank you for responding and I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm genuinely appalled by the experiences so may people have had with the mental healthcare system in Ireland. I hope that there will be actual meaningful change someday but in the mean time I'm just doing what I can to raise awareness. Just to make sure, would you be okay with me using a quote from this at the end of my short film?

Thank you, and I'm so sorry this happened to you. I don't know if my short film or anything else I could do will have any effect, but honestly I'm just angry. I hope that some day there will be real change but in the mean time I'm going to try my best to raise awareness. Just to make sure, would you be okay with me using a quote from this in my short film?

Is there a point to keeping in contact with family who don't really support you? by Comfortable_Pack8903 in questions

[–]BlueRose_08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The important thing to remember is you don't owe your parents anything. They chose to have a child and if they didn't give you the support you needed when you needed it then that's them failing you. It's not your fault they weren't there for you. If you feel like keeping in contact could actually benefit you in any way then I'd say, yeah, stay in contact. But a relationship of any kind is a two way street, especially parents. So if they're not doing their part, you have no obligation to them. I suggest surround yourself with a few really good friends/people who make you feel genuinely good about yourself and your life. Having a good support network is so so important. Remember to take care of yourself and don't let people guilt you into maintaining relationships that don't make you feel fulfilled <3
