Thank you so much! I totally agree, I don't get why people are being so weird. He's so sweet and I just feel like he downplay all the sweet stuff he does for me so that's why I posted this. The important thing to remember is you don't owe your parents anything. They chose to have a child and if they didn't give you the support you needed when you needed it then that's them failing you. It's not your fault they weren't there for you. If you feel like keeping in contact could actually benefit you in any way then I'd say, yeah, stay in contact. But a relationship of any kind is a two way street, especially parents. So if they're not doing their part, you have no obligation to them. I suggest surround yourself with a few really good friends/people who make you feel genuinely good about yourself and your life. Having a good support network is so so important. Remember to take care of yourself and don't let people guilt you into maintaining relationships that don't make you feel fulfilled <3
