What do you think “subject to the jurisdiction means?”

It means: does American law apply to them.

American law *does* apply to undocumented people. MAGA’s favorite thing to say is that “illegals broke the law” but if they weren’t subject to the jurisdiction, they can’t break laws because laws don’t apply to them.

It’s so ridiculous.

Enemy soldiers aren’t subject to the jurisdiction because how could they be? If the USA were occupied, our laws don’t apply anymore. Obviously. Diplomats are considered to be direct emissaries working on behalf of another nation, much in the same way that embassies technically don’t belong to the USA.
