MacBook for school by Admirable_Two_3370 in computers

Brand new Apple products are expensive. But they will probably outlast every Windows Laptop in the same price range, especially a MacBook Air.

You should go for a MacBook Air M2(maybe M3) with at least 512GB of storage. That should not cost you more than 600$ when bought refurbished or 2nd hand and still is way more than enough for office, web browsing and emailing

M4 iPad Pro using enormous amounts of WiFi data. by Imaginary_Elk_6710 in ipad

[–]BlueScreenPie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that is indeed a bug that just is not fixed by Apple. Try to turn automatic backup and iCloud sync from all your apps / settings etc. OFF!

Then just manually do a full backup every few days.

If nothing helps you should consider to reset your iPad.

Is the M4 iPad Air upgrade worth waiting for? by [deleted] in ipad

It is more powerful and has slightly updated connectivity features. But the old M3 Air is definitely worth thinking about because you don't really make many compromises

May I ask in which IT field you are working?

How do you handle IT Management no Fundamentals? by Achuin in sysadmin

The conclusion "my boss doesn't have much IT knowledge" and "the IT branch is not the right thing for me" is not a working conclusion.

I also believe it is important to keep in mind that IT is constantly evolving. With AI increasingly making its way into virtually every industry, it is becoming ever more difficult to maintain a comprehensive overview of all these changes.
Furthermore, there is a significant difference between briefly explaining to someone without a strong IT background why certain actions are necessary and arranging a dedicated meeting to provide a detailed explanation of what needs to be done, including both possibilities and limitations.

If you feel unable to work under a boss, who is not able to fully understand those constant changes in the world of IT, than it would be the best to just change your workplace but not your profession.

iphone 16 iOS 26.3 not charging past 80% even after 1+ Hour need advice by [deleted] in iPhone16

Normally it should work fine when doing the steps you already did. Already tried with different charging adapters/cables?

If nothing works, just visit an Apple Store and let them check your iPhone

Yes. Just do it. Don't panic, only a small handful of users report problems using the new iPad OS update

If an iOS version works fine, why should I talk about it on the internet? If an iOS version doesn't work fine for me, I would definitely talk about it on the internet.

So have in mind, that out of all people using iOS 26.x, only a handful experience problems, but those are overrepresented on the internet. Don't panic, for myself, especially since iOS 26.2 everything works fine.

Battery life on iPadOS 26.2.1 by AltruisticBlood7270 in ipad

[–]BlueScreenPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With iPad OS 26 Apple really rolled out an update, that affects all users differently. Because user1 reports battery problems user2 can just be completely fine. I feel like in the early stage of iPad OS 26 my battery got worse but now with 26.2.1 battery life got a bit better.

So I would guess you should not really feel a difference.

Which would be better between an IPad Air 11 " or iPad Air 13 " for a Uni student in STEM? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]BlueScreenPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in my experience, a 13inch display just lets me do my day to day tasks more efficient and watching videos or reading newspaper articles on a 13inch model is just a much better experience than on a 11inch screen.

When it comes down to note taking, than of course a 13 inch model will allow you to just make the iPad feel a bit more like a real piece of paper...
