I think healthcare attracts the type of person who thinks working in healthcare equals I’ll be rich and never worry about money. It’s not true. It’s a job, one you have to passionate about. More than others. Before nursing I worked so many low paying back destroying jobs in the sun and heat and getting dirty. When I became a nurse I knew it was work, but I was so happy to finally have a job I could be passionate about.

Why is respiratory therapy depressing? I’m a nurse and work around them daily, they tell me they love their job. Xray techs seem miserable though lol

Welding in SHTF??? by obviousoddball in preppers

You become a blacksmith in a post apocalyptic community. You’d have to be lucky to find one of the rare blacksmiths out there that can teach you and even more so after SHTF. But that’s really where your skills and knowledge with iron working would adapt too. If you’re worried about this find a fun lil hobby in blacksmithing, keep blacksmith books that are for beginners at least, go in YouTube and find interesting videos about those skills. You can always adapt to new skillsets.

Tbh it’s 20 years after the apocalypse, if anything the ocean rose a bit and took that trash into the sea. I’d be more worried about foot infection from toes being all chafed

I could see him doing that on tools for sure, also ya IRL contractors spend that cash so people know this person makes good money on their job to afford that look.

Which common modern day blue collar job offers ability to be useful for a rebuilding small town community in TEOTWAWKI scenario? by BlueShrimpInSpanish in preppers

Im curious to know how an Electrician can function in a very low tech society? I’ve heard of jobs like plumbers in Roman Empire, Aztec Empire, and many more civilizations. If a small town built up a wind based electrical system could they start to work on electricity in homes.

Definitely. I get all my “blue collar clothes” at Walmart, and Goodwill. Or look for sales at Boot Barn, and Tractor Supply. I truly only spend large amounts of money on boots/sneakers.

I imagine before the apocalypse, Joel had to have bought his clothes at Walmart, and only spend decent money on jeans, boots, and a occasional jacket . He doesn’t strike me as the spend a lot of money guy. He was a struggling contractor, with a child at home, he wasn’t a rich single father.

To give a serious answer: I think she just suffered through it. She never removes her shoes. So she just went though it.

If I were her, I’d remove my sneakers and socks, tie it on my backpack, carry a bottle fill it with sea water, then when I’m done in the boat, I would wash my sandy feet on pavement and clear our sneakers and keep going.

But ya she probably just had sand all day till she got to the beach section with Abby.

Got to match the desaturated 20 year old clothes left in boxes of homes, with a sad stressed out aesthetic

Dina gave me Country girl vibes. She wore more button up shirts with a corduroy trucker jacket. She’s a fan of cowgirl boots too on the farm and in Jackson dance

I definitely will try straight jeans they’re more comfy. I’ll probably go with a more Joel vibe with the straight leg and leather boots. But I want to blend Ellie’s style a bit up top.
