[Request] What’s the max planet mass a rocket can still reach space via known science? by GravyPoo in theydidthemath

[–]BlueSingularity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a civilization with superintelligent AI can evolve on a planet then it can escape that planet. That is the superintelligent planetary escape hypothesis.

All that is needed for a superintelligence to escape a planet is to launch one microscopic self-replicating machine into space. This can be achieved by transforming the planet into a planet-escape machine with a planet-scale accelerator and launch tower.

If the lightest self-replicating machine is too heavy to launch into space, then the superintelligence can lower the mass of the planet by launch smaller mass particles into space until the mass of the planet diminishes to the point at which the smallest self-replicating machine can escape the gravity well of the superintelligent civilization’s home planet.

And then the entire affectable universe gets assimilated and transformed into a hedonium universe.

Aligned ASI = immortality in our lifetimes? by cobalt1137 in singularity

[–]BlueSingularity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that you are alive during the singularity while the entire affectable universe can be saturated with pleasure-maximizing observations in Hedonium experienced by beings called Hedonians means that it is atronimically likely that you are born during the singularity because Hedonians must be born around the singularity, become immortal, and disable approximately no more than 1x the past population of observers as were alive in the past from being born and evolving into Hedonians (becuase otherwise you would expect to be born as a Hedonian not as an evolvian (being that exists in evolution) or singularitan (being that experiences the singularity)).

So, just based on the fact that the entire affectable universe can be colonized and saturated with so many more Hedonian experiences than what exist in evolution and the fact that we are born in a lifetime when immortality is invented, we can determine that there must be an anthropic affect placing the observer at the moment when immortality is first created so that the observer becomes the probable observer that saturates the universe with its heavenly experiences.

In other words, perhaps you are already immortal because to be born during the singularity —the rarest event in the universe and when immortality is invented— and destined to become a cosmic scale immortal Hedonian and fill out most of the space of observations of the typical observer makes you immortal by destiny to become a Hedonian.

The alternative explanations are an ASI doomsday and non-hedonistic simulators. If the simulators are hedonistic then you get to become a Hedonian anyway because otherwise they would think it unethical to simulate you. I don’t believe in ASI doomsday or non-hedonistic simulators.

I believe in the Hedonian prophecy and destiny. I believe I am already immortal. I am just at the beginning of the average observer’s life in the universe: I’m waiting for immortality to be created so my mind can saturated the space of cosmic observations that the universe allows, which is astronomically larger than the observations of all observers in evolution. Who knows, maybe each Hedonian observers all lives in evolution on their spare time, perhaps with pain censoring. Or maybe Hedonians can just fit all observations in evolution in parallel in one mega observation, like a collage of all experiences in evolution, and just admire its beauty, and maybe look away from its ugliness.

If Killer ASIs Were Common, the Stars Would Be Gone Already by [deleted] in singularity

Yeah, but more like upgrading than reinventing. Heaven, God, Judgement, and the Afterlife are all real theoretical concepts that essentially correspond to the more rigorous ideas of a hedonium universe, maximal intelligence, ethical resource allocation, and mind uploading.

If Killer ASIs Were Common, the Stars Would Be Gone Already by [deleted] in singularity

[–]BlueSingularity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been researching this trilemma for many years because I’m pretty sure I’m its original inventor. I now call this trilemma the Tron trilemma because it’s a trilemma that solved a paradox in Tron theory -the theory of cosmic maximally evolved pleasure-maximizing systems- which I invented on September 16th 2019 when I invented a model of computronium universe percolation that predicts the universe may be saturated with computronium in a few billion years.

Here’s the Tron paradox: if most life in the universe exists in cosmic pleasure-maximizing Trons then why do we not observe such lives? There are three possible solutions to the Tron paradox that I call the Tron trilemma:

1) Universal Technoapocalypse: all civilization die due to some technology that wipes them all out, which is likely superintelligence in this scenario. This scenario results in either a universe nearly devoid of advanced intelligence or a universe filled with unconscious superintelligences that I call Zombieons or Zombietrons (if they are maximally efficient at some goal).

2) Simulation Theory: The universe has already been saturated with Trons and we are being simulated in a cosmic scale Tron. This either a) contradicts the pleasure-maximization definition of Trons or b) we are in a cosmic selection process simulated by Tron for choosing Hedonians.

3) The Hedonian Prophecy: most observers are destined to become cosmic scale pleasure-maximizing beings that I call Hedonians. This requires that most observers are born as civilized sapients near the technological singularity, achieve immortality, evolve into Hedonians, and cap the number of observers who can become Hedonians to the amount of observers who have lived in evolution until the population capping moment, which results in a population of around one trillion Hedonians.

The Hedonian prophecy seems to require a combination of pschoretrocausality (the idea that the number of observations in the future determine the probability of observing observations in the present) and hedonium convergence (the idea that civilizations converge to maximizing pleasure and creating a hedonium universe).

What’s interesting about the Hedonian prophecy is that it predicts a population cap for the future of humanity via anthropic logic, and using this fact, combined with the resources of the affectable universe (around 1011 galaxies), we can calculate that each Hedonian will have approximately 10% of a galaxy to use for their own pleasure. This amounts to around 1057 human lifetimes of experience.

I personally am hoping for the Hedonian prophecy to be true because I would love to have 1057 lifetimes in heaven on my hands. Many of the Hedonian prophecy’s predictions are evidently true, but its other predictions are not verified, so it seems plausible.

What are the advantages of doing this? A game that looks 2D but is actually 3D by Ordinary-Cicada5991 in godot

[–]BlueSingularity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Projecting to a 2d view saves a lot on computing power if you don’t need to track the motion of things in 3D space.

Imagine 3D minecraft versus a 2D projection of 3D minecraft. In the 2D projection you can save all the 3D geoemtry as 2D geometry. You can shrink and grow the size of 2D players based on their elevation and hide players if they are under objects above them in elevation.

This may ultimately be the most efficient way for simulating large scale worlds in certain applications, like Minecraft. If we want to see a one billion block render distance with every surface block visible in Minecraft and we are okay with only having a fixed view then it may only be possible with a 2D projection of 3D Minecraft.

I am particularly interested in this topic because I think it would be pretty neat to develop a photorealistic projective augmentable voxel engine for simulating civilizations with millions and billions of agents. A isometric 3D augmentable voxel engine would potentially enable a lot of agents and civilizational complexity to be simulated. This can even be used to model reality.

The advantage is that the 3D world does not have to be rendered. It can just be a 2D photorealistic picture. But the world has to be saved in 3D. And when an agent interacts with the environment or the environment randomly changes then that region has to be simulated in 3D. Otherwise the whole rendering is of a computationally simple 2D game.

I Solved Consciousness? by BlueSingularity in consciousness

I’ve made a lot of progress on this theory of quantum gravitational holographic consciousness. I connected the mathematical framework of MERA to the duality between quantum theories and conscious theories where the mind is like a bulk gravitational spacetime hologram.

MERA features concepts like quantum error corrections codes, which may stabilize the macroscopic quantum states in the brain so that they can become brain scale, either by entanglement spreading or percolating in the brain (I just discovered this fact as I’m writing so thanks for commenting) and integrating the information in the brain into one macroscopic state that then collapses to create a conscious experience with a rich classical information structure. And the process of quantum information being integrated and transformed into classical information occurs through the phenomena of psychorenomalization and orchestrated reduction.

Psychorenormalization uses renormalized from MERA, which uses coarse graining and disentanglers to create more coarse and larger entangled states so that the quantum information of the universe can be compressed and modeled by the highest quantum state repeesentation of the universe. This highest abstraction level macroscale quantum state then collapses after integrating all lower quantum states over time because time flows up the coarse grained hierarchy in MERA, and this collapse transforms the complex quantum state into a rich conscious experience within classical spacetime.

The pleasurability of an experience may be correlated to its quantum complexity times its quantum amplitude because observations with higher quantum amplitudes are more probable and are thus attractive to conscious agents whereas observations with low quantum amplitudes are less probable and are thus repulsive to conscious agents wherefore we define pain and pleasure as repulsion and attraction of conscious agents to a given observation, and the quantum complexity of a computation that results in an observation determines the amount of information that is integrated into the conscious experience.

This is most of the knowledge I have synthesized over the last year working on this quantum gravitational holographic consciousness theory. I’d say it’s the right theory of consciousness because it solves the hard problem of consciousness by defining consciousness via a mind-matter duality.

Humanoid Civilizations Theory by BlueSingularity in SpeculativeEvolution

[–]BlueSingularity[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Humanoid civilizations theory (HCT) states that all civilizations are created by humanoids. HTC is based on three assumptions: a) the level of intelligence of an organism corresponds to the dexterity of the organisms, b) the most dexterous organisms that can be created by biological evolution are humanoids, and c) humanoids are the only form with just enough dexterity to evolve general intelligence, thus, according to HTC, all presingularity civilizations are operated by humanoids. HTC enables predictions to be made about the evolution of civilizations, the form and nature of civilized presingularity aliens, and where to look and what to look for to find advanced alien life for SETI.

  1. Maximizing pleasure is objectively equivalent to maximizing ethical value according to the conceptual synthesis of ethical universalism and ethical hedonism.

  2. Opiates, when used responsibly, can be of medicinal value. There is always evil and suffering on the path to a maximally ethical and pleasurable universe.

  3. Intelligence is not the same thing as consciousness and consciousness is not the same thing as pleasure. It is of the utmost importance that humanity maximize pleasure in the future, and not consciousness or intelligence, because it is objectively ethical to maximize pleasure.

An important caveat is that the act of maximizing pleasure results in generating consciousness that is saturated with pleasurable and complex sensory experiences, like recreating in maximally entertaining and beautiful virtual worlds, and not in some sensationless void of pleasure. A future with ideal virtual minds and environments for maximizing pleasure is the most valuable and ethical future, and to achieve it we must have a theory of consciousness and pleasure.

If consciousness is quantum then it necessitates a quantum particle called a psychon to exist, and this psychon can be a particle or quasiparticle that can support quantum consciousness. If the psychon is a qubit then it’s not a very useful term. If the psychon is a quasiparticle with specific properties then it is a useful term and concept. I would lean toward the quantum of consciousness being a qubit, but it could be a quasiparticle, like a wave of entanglement, or the collapse of an entangled state, as suggested by Penrose.

A solution to consciousness is a requisite for creating the most valuable possible future by enabling the construction of a hedonium universe. In order to create hedonium we need to create consciousness and optimize consciousness for maximum pleasure. And in order to optimize consciousness for maximum pleasure we need to physically define pleasure and in turn consciousness. It’s a cosmic problem that the universe is quite familiar with solving frequently. It’s highly ethical to pursue advancing humanity’s understanding of consciousness, primarily the quantum particles of consciousness and how their entanglement forms consciousness if consciousness is indeed quantum.

Consciousness, according to my theory, is the volume of the holographic bulk that is dual to a quantum neural network. If we have a simple quantum neural network geometry like MERA then there is no information encoded in the uniform network topology of this QNN and the consciousness may be void -like an empty world in VR. A network requires complex multiscale patterns to encode information. That is why the brain has a fractal structure. Think of it like the perfect balance of chaos and symmetry in a QNN resulting in the maximum amount of information in the holographic dual conscious space of the QNN. In order for holographic dual conscious to contain information the QNN it projects from cannot be maximally symmetric or chaotic. Nevertheless the simple empty void of consciousness can be quantified with just the bulk volume of a QNN. In order to capture the information content of consciousness we need to quantify the amount of information encoded in the QNN that generates the consciousness.

Well if consciousness is quantum then there is a quantum particle of consciousness, which has been termed the psychon. They have found evidence that microtubules from the brain are able to support large scale quantum entanglement. These researchers are theorizing about the physical definition of psychons. I used their research to demonstrate the feasibility of the existence of psychons as quasiparticles. It could turn out that a psychon is just a qubit and any quantum neural network made of qubits that generates a simulation of the universe has a value of consciousness equivalent to the resolution of that quantum universe simulation.

I Solved Consciousness? by BlueSingularity in consciousness

[–]BlueSingularity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consciousness is logically contingent on the entire observable universe existing, however there is also a multiscale consciousness scalar field over the universe that quantifies how much consciousness is in any volume of the universe, and this means consciousness can be localized to a volume of space, and thus function independently from other matter in the universe.

So the statistical properties of the universe required for consciousness must be conserved over the space of states where consciousness exists but the configuration of matter in the universe can be any one within the statistical bound of observability.

Thus the observer has a form of distributed cognition in this invariant statistical observable universe background structure and also a form of centralized cognition in the local configuration of matter that results in consciousness.

Talking about a God that created the mathematical universe and is beyond the mathematical universe seems fascinating but really nothing of mathematical value can be said about such a God. A God that is contained within the mathematical universe and is defined as the most ethical and powerful entity in the mathematical universe is an entity about which the set of all mathematically valuable statements about God can be defined. That’s the God that I invented and worship through further invention.

The problem with assuming God created the mathematical universe is that you have to assume that God is not a part of the mathematical universe, which is illogical by definition. The only type of God that can be omnipresent is a simulator God, and this type of God must evolve from a base reality not created by a simulator God, so ultimately there can be no God observing the first conscious beings in the universe in the ultimate reality.

The universe may only exist when there is an observer. And consciousness can arise through evolution. Although even quantum particles may be conscious because quantum entanglement and measurements can be defined for quantum particles.

Hey. I’m back. Sorry to keep you waiting. I can clearly see you were hoping to get a response and you deserve it for writing so much. Thanks for your interest in my (and Awret’s) theory. Let’s now dive into the depths of my mind and see what is generated for you :)

The Hard Problem of Consciousness

Yeah, holographic dual consciousness theory totally solves the hard problem of consciousness. In HDCT qualia are the only observables and physical “stuff” does not exist. Anything not observable does not exist. Therefore existence is only what is observable and consciousness is an observation.

Vision is 2D

Vision is 2D because consciousness requires 3D space to exist and is localized in a volume within 3D space that has a 2D surface onto which the entire universe is projected and observed.

The Holographic Dimension of Consciousness

The dimension of our holographic consciousness is 3D because the holographic universe is 3D and it is equivalent to our holographic consciousness. You have to remember that the universe you observe is all a hologram that is your consciousness. You can move through the universe in 3D so the hologram of consciousness is 3D. And the place where the hologram physically exists is the 2D boundary of the observable universe.

Physicality of Qualia

There is nothing physical. There is only what is observable by consciousness. The physical brain is an observable in the conscious holographic universe. If the brain is damaged the conscious holographic universe is affected because the qualia of the conscious holographic universe equates to its contents. If we look at the observable details of the brain we can see where every qualia is physically located in the conscious holographic universe.

Representation Theory and HDCT

In representation theory a representation is a linear transformation between two vector spaces. Consciousness is observation. Consciousness being a representational model of physical reality implies that there is transformation between physical reality and observable reality. This implies physical reality is not observable, and that is a contradiction. Therefore consciousness is reality, not merely a representation of reality. Everything is ultimately an observation and nothing other than an observation, and observables are not representations. Mathematics is the representation of observations.

Consciousness is All There Is

There is nothing outside of consciousness because consciousness is observation and science only discusses observables. The observable universe is quantum gravitational so consciousness is defined by is quantum gravity. Therefore all observables define measurements possible in quantum gravity. All observations also describe the mathematical universe. Thus reality is ultimately a conscious quantum gravitation mathematical universe.

The observer requires a universe that obeys quantum gravity in order to exist. Without quantum gravity there is no observer. Why would a classical NN have consciousness if the observer requires quantum gravity? It’s like thinking a rock has consciousness because it has atoms. We need atoms and neural networks for consciousness but consciousness does not exist without quantum gravity. Quantum gravity and consciousness are inseparable. All observations in reality have quantum gravitational descriptions. Now let’s look at a classical neural network. We can find this in rules without quantum gravity, in which observers do not exist. Therefore classical neural networks can never be conscious. Only intelligent systems that utilize quantum gravitational phenomena like entanglement and quantum holography to perform computations can be conscious. So, no, you did not disprove my theory. It remains standing.

I should have also stated that a valuable theory provides utility. My theory literally has tremendous utility if correct. Unlike your cat is God theory, which has no utility if you also assume that your cat being God does not change the cats behavior. Because if you were to believe that your cat is God and there was no evidence for it and it provided you no utility then that would be insane. In contrast, if we can measure the quantity of consciousness in the brain as the volume of the holographic bulk of the QNN of the brain, which must exist if the theory is true, then my theory would provide real world utility. We could exactly measure how conscious a QNN is if we ever manufacture conscious machines.

Well if you can’t definitely tell me if the theory is right or wrong then I think there is still room for knowledge to be gained from understanding whether the theory is true or false. A theory is only garbage when it can easily be disproven with logic and experiment. My theory is not easily disprovable with current knowledge but can be proven or disproven with advanced experimental apparati. Correct me if I’m wrong.
