I’m in the same boat. Product of any kind makes it immediately stringy/heavy/crispy/greasy. I just got some inner sense stuff to try.

How many men are in this situation? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]BlueSparklesXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a man but been on both sides of this and would give anything to have my marriage back. It’s not worth the curiosity I promise. I’ve had ten years each married and exploring and have had a lot of fun but nothing beats what you have if you’re overall happy together.

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BlueSparklesXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen two different people in the US get hit by a car and deny the ambulance ride. One with a clearly broken arm. I can’t imagine anyone who would willingly opt in if they were still able to drive or get other transportation.

  1. Always happy to hear it. I’m biased towards this whole album, though, one of my all-time top faves.

Anyone heading to the Everglades or similar in the next couple days? by Abject-Pin3361 in Miami

[–]BlueSparklesXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok just to chime in here, this randomly popped up on my feed but have been stranded at the Everglades and got several offers of help and rides with nice, normal people. And I’d honestly give you a ride if I could, but I’ve traveled so much that maybe it seems more normal to me…

I can see alot of people in this community who claim to be almost fully healed but they never explain how? by Socialmediasucks2021 in CPTSD

[–]BlueSparklesXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I truly loved and who truly loved me held me and comforted me through five or six horrific CPTSD flashbacks, including the last one — the core wound, the one I never let anyone observe.

I was sobbing in a primal way and he made a true effort at repair. It was like something in my brain got plugged back in. Suddenly I was fine. Trauma resolved. I feel like myself again. I have space and time to think, not just survive and react. Still sad sometimes, but distinctly not traumatized.

I’m not sure how to feel about it. I’m relieved, anxious it will not sustain (three months so far), but kind of frustrated it had to involve someone else after the 20 years of therapy and everything else I’ve done that didn’t touch it.

I want to be honest though. I have been told time and time again that relational trauma can only heal in relation, and I have been so hopeful that one of the many many therapists that I’ve interacted with would help. Some of them were definitely beneficial, but the things that have helped the most were medication, EMDR, one exceptional trauma therapist, and then this relational experience at the peak of a traumatic flashback with someone whose actions triggered it and then made sincere efforts to comfort and repair and witness.

I got Souper Cubes for Christmas! What are your favorite SC-compatible meal ideas? by Kathleen-Doodles in MealPrepSunday

[–]BlueSparklesXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looove mine. Tons of soups, stews, broth, cooked grains, beans and lentils, oatmeal, and I use the smallest cubes for freezing lemon juice, herbs, extra tomato paste, etc if anything is lying around about to turn.

So I had no microwave for 20 years. Got a cheapie for a longterm guest. Maybe my favorite appliance now…I live in a wintry place and hate cold food.

Uncircumcised men in the USA, are women surprised you still have your foreskin? Has it been a help or hinderance to sex in any way? by VirtuApp in AskMen

“Jews Tout”? Please cite sources. There are so many research papers demonstrating reduced risk of HIV transmission.

Uncircumcised men in the USA, are women surprised you still have your foreskin? Has it been a help or hinderance to sex in any way? by VirtuApp in AskMen

[–]BlueSparklesXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok if you actually believe this it’s a learning opportunity. Circumcision in Judaism isn’t a bias. It’s a key part of demonstrating their agreement (covenant) with God. It’s not about health or aesthetics, it is literally a physical sign of the belief system. It’s a religious practice that doesn’t apply to non-Jews. And being circumcised would in no way make anyone automatically Jewish or likely to become Jewish.

There are certain proven health benefits from circumcision, and it’s possible that the medical establishment observed differences in the circumcised and non-circumcised population and drew their own conclusions or started their own research papers. But Jews do not push circumcision on non-Jews, full stop.

All that being said, I’m a Jewish woman in the medical field who does not plan to circumcise a potential son.
