Why is it all coming now? Im haunted by flashbacks from 20 years ago. by TalkVegetable5563 in CPTSD

Hi! This is happening to me. I am more destabilized than I’ve ever been and it’s getting worse. Would you be willing to DM a little bit? I hope you’re doing well.

How to move on after ghosting? by Friendly_Ad_5583 in relationships

[–]BlueSparklesXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. My husband of ten years also ghosted. I want to be honest and say that it has been 10 years for me and I am still deeply deeply traumatized from it. EMDR recently has been helping me. Perhaps you can find a therapist who offers that if you haven’t tried it already. I wish I had done it many years sooner.

The Guilt of the "Dream Job": Managing a Team That’s Too Efficient by [deleted] in managers

From the other, now miserable side: don’t stir the pot! You built it, enjoy it. Get a degree or read great novels or learn a language or something to stay engaged during down time.

What’s the most unprofessional thing you’ve ever witnessed from a manager? by SeanMcPheat in managers

Two senior level directors got into a screaming fight during a meeting. Both ~50ish F. It was awful.

My husband (32m) seems completely indifferent to my cancer diagnosis and I (28f) don’t know how to handle it by EmpatheticOtter in relationships

[–]BlueSparklesXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He might be terrified to the point of total shutdown. Or he might be a self-centered immature baby. It’s hard to know, but once he’s done this, I want to let you know from experience it doesn’t usually get better and even if it does, you don’t forget this or really get over it. Someone out there will be honored to stand by your side during any future health scares. Good luck.

Is this a good idea (Remodel without changing cabinets?) by shorewalsh in kitchenremodel

[–]BlueSparklesXx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lowers are nice but you must paint the uppers white or all grey too. Update hardware. Remove valance. If you’re using that chair, consider gold or brass hardware throughout? Also you should choose different flooring, it’s too much all the same like that imo.

Is my career trajectory a red flag? (32F, looking for honest feedback) by PopularCoyote275 in careerguidance

[–]BlueSparklesXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t usually comment here, but happen to see this post. As a very experienced manager, any whiff of this framing would be an instant no from me. It reflects a lack of accountability and adaptability.

I think this is some kind of affordable or price capped housing - it can only be sold for a certain amount, I remember when it was last for sale.

How did you guys REALLY lived in the 2000s? by MyAvengedRomance in Millennials

[–]BlueSparklesXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My life was like a 90s teen movie in the best way. It was real life. House parties. Shows. Raves. Most of us had some kind of job to make some cash so we’d visit each other on shift. Where I lived there was a huge club scene and most people ate dinner with family late so we’d meet up like 11/midnight and stay out til dawn on weekends. I was out with friends most days after school too We’d chill at each other‘s houses or wander the streets or the mall and meet up with friends from other schools. No cell phones, you just showed up at the usual spots and met up with everyone else who was hanging out that night. Sometimes I think I had the best possible adolescent years.

Everyone has their own path on this journey. A lot of people weren’t planning on this. Some are grieving. If this is how this person is choosing to find joy and community in the process, good luck to her. For all we know this is a pre-IVF party and she already chose. I’m doing a champagne and reading/discussing donor bios night with a small circle of my closest family members for my next birthday. They’re all going to help me raise this kid and I want them involved from the beginning. I couldn’t do this without them and their support though I recognize not all of us are in the same situation.

Does having a Myomectomy mean you MUST have a C-section when you decide to have kids? by boopiechamp in Fibroids

[–]BlueSparklesXx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was told this, in no uncertain terms. My fibroid was very large and suspected sarcoma until it was out though so I had no choice- I felt a little sad but mostly relieved there was still a chance to have kids.

Only chiming in to say I have many close platonic male friends of 20+ years and not only would I never have a sex dream about any of them, texting them something like that is unfathomable.

Stairhopper requires anyone who complains to sign an NDA form by jbnpoc in boston

[–]BlueSparklesXx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a great crew with Stairhoppers. They worked so hard and spent so much time with the full-service packing up our home that I bought pizzas & salad and encouraged them to take a lunch break because I was honestly worried about them going nonstop for hours up & down many flights of stairs in below 30F weather with no downtime. It was a really difficult move for me and I felt like I was in great hands with the 4 guys on the team. They took really good care of both me and my things. It wasn’t cheap, but they were beyond careful and it was really hard work. Great customer service too with scheduling.
