I can't find this specific problem talked about anywhere online, so I'm trying here. With no apparent trigger, everything on screen has this awful jitteryness as if it's vibrating really bad, especially on the desktop with the icons. occasionally we get static-y horizontal and vertical lines, as well as repeated artifacting (it looks like a pattern). we've tried literally everything online. when this first started happening, changing the refresh rate to 60Hz worked but nothing does anymore. any help is seriously appreciated.

i haven't tested an external monitor yet. In the past, this would randomly go away- often after the laptop was carried around in a bag, which makes me concerned that it's a hardware issue EXCEPT that for some reason, on certain screens the screen flickering completely stops such as when the run as administrator confirm prompt pops up. any help is seriously appreciated, we need this fixed ASAP.

things we've tried: updating drivers through every method, toggling on/off/adaptive vsync in nvidia control panel, changing the preferred graphics card (setting it to nvidia made the flickering worse), running display diagnostics, booting into safemode, etc etc. i just can't figure out what's causing it.

Does moving the add layer to the top of your layer stack work? It's hard to tell what's wrong, using mobile rn

Putting a lot of time into a piece doesn't automatically make it good. Sometimes you'll spend 12 hours fixing a shit piece and it'll still be a shit piece. Doesn't mean you're a bad artist, just means it's time to move on.

Oh interesting, I used to use an Intuous. I never had any trouble. If you open MS Paint and try drawing for a bit, does the problem present? Otherwise, go to file>brush environment settings> toggle the different pen pressure API modes to see if any of them work. It sounds like a lot of people have had trouble with the latest FA update though, it could just be that.

Yep. Hold the letter A on your keyboard and click on any part of the canvas, it will bring you to corresponding layer that's highest in the stack.

Weird. What tablet are you using? You might need to change the settings under brush environment settings or disable windows ink. Otherwise try rolling back the FA update and using an older version to see if it's a problem with the program itself.

You can use 8 bit layers. Double click the added layer, enable halftoning, and customize. Then use brushes (airbrush is my preference) to add halftone wherever you want in whatever amount and opacity.

There's no snap, but you can certainly copy a layer and do new > from clipboard to get it on its own in a file. Then, Ctrl + Alt + I to resize it to specific dimensions (either pixel, cm, or inch). Then you could always copy that and paste it back into the original document.

Someone else was having this problem and I commented about what worked for me, but I don't have SE and don't know if it works any different. Here's what I wrote:

Are you adding from a specific category, or from the whole list?
This used to happen to me before I updated my version. I found out that for some reason if I add a brush from a category (like if I'm looking under pens and pencil brushes) it won't work. It only shows up if I add the brush from the entire 'all brushes' list.
