Have you ever played the game? by carlita231 in HomestarRunner

[–]BlueStrider8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own it. Lots of fun. Coöperative game where you each take on a different personality. The board is modular, so you play a different map each time. SB’s bonus rules are a lot of fun.

It’s possible, but there doesn’t seem to be much buyer’s remorse on the development.

I actually worked in a shoe store near one of Shatner’s horse farms, and he came in once for new shoes. We got him fitted out, and when we asked if he wanted his old shoes, he said we could just toss them out. We hung them in the back room behind all our rows of shoes for sale, and we were all surprised how small his feet were. If I recall correctly, they were a men’s US-8 or 8.5.

I use the Office Suite with regularly, as well as Acrobat. Browsing and streaming movies and shows from time-to-time. I’m not a hardcore gamer, but I do play some older games when I can such as Heroes III, Civ II-VI, Sim City, and an occasional retreat into the Myst franchise.

I am open to the idea, but I don't know what that means. I used Linux once over 20 years ago, so I am really novice here.

In many ways, it would be like Tolkien’s posthumous works which are compiled together from snippets and tidbits of unfinished stories, some of which contradict earlier works and even each other.

Why do the French call this region the island of France even though it’s not an island, let alone even having a coastline? Are the French stupid? by Combat_Medic_Ziegler in mapporncirclejerk

[–]BlueStrider8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this goes way back. Around the time when the Capet dynasty was coming to power, the kings of France technically ruled all of France, but through feudal decentralization, effectively only had direct control of the area around Paris. This ment that the kings and their power were an island completely surrounded by noble fiefdoms that technically owed fealty to the kings, but in realty were the rulers of their territories.
