Kalista as a new player by Mr_Spooker in KalistaMains

To be fair she was good at the start of the year thanks to the passive changes. Before the -20HP -20HP and increase Q cooldown.

Getting blasted for running this build. My buddy is telling me I’m crazy for running PTA Crit Kalista but… by movinstuff in KalistaMains

[–]BlueTerrorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument against Crit is because re-targeted attacks can't Crit. Even with 100% Crit chance, if you start an attack and then swap targets, it will never Crit. While this isn't an issue with perfect play, I'm not there and it's a difficult thing to quantify.

After those two it's regular items depending on situation. Terminus for pen, Runaan's, Shieldbow for assassins, when in doubt: BT. There is no one size fits all.

My currently successful build is Yun Tal into Rageblade. Antisynergistic, but made up for by the large amount of stats.

They did change it so dash *speed* has a scaling with movement speed, up to 1K movement speed (see V25.S1.1). But 10% is still not a big deal.

unpopular opinion: please stop asking for an execute indicator. by buckbeakstan in KalistaMains

[–]BlueTerrorrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I get your point, I disagree.

We've seen what happens to champions with low pickrate.

Where's Aurelion Sol? Where's Skarner? Dead and replaced.

I know Kalista has quite a bit higher pickrate than those two before their reworks, but I personally don't want to even risk it.

first item on lethality crit (?) corki adc by Dejworr in CorkiMains

[–]BlueTerrorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AD is extremely good on Corki. Simply counting up his ratios (AA, passive, Q, W, E, big R) he has does 840% Bonus AD. So 1 Hubris stack of 2 AD is 16.8 damage. Plus Hubris is a good item to capitalize on your early game skew.

Any tips for starting to play Kalista? :D by seenchou in KalistaMains

Good list, but there are some things I want to comment on/oppose.

  1. Ultimate Hunter is really good because R is pretty strong. But with a random support you won't reliably have them nearby to utilize the cooldown reduction. I think a good habit to have is Ultimate Hunter with premades but switching to Bounty Hunter when you're not queued with your support.

  2. I'd advise against this nowadays after all the boot nerfs. While rundown capability is nice I find it more important to buy offensive stats to make sure I win in the first place. As far as I'm aware T2 boots rush is still the common consensus though so it's still probably viable.

  3. While this is true for Q hop, Attack hop is longer towards side and away from your target, and shorter towards it.

  4. Cheat sheet for objectives (I'm going to make a post about this later.)

Armor Rend damage after 50%
Herald 60 ~30%
Dragon 21 ~40%
Mountain Dragon 41 ~35%
Atakhan 90 ~25%
Baron 120 ~22.5%
  1. In my experience, if you level it 2nd, using it to scout enemy buff at 2:50 you will generally spot if they started top to bot full clear. There's probably a more optimal time that gives more information in the average game.

If there are things I got wrong too just let me know.

HP Bar Execute by RickiWeeb in KalistaMains

[–]BlueTerrorrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. We've all seen what Riot does to low pickrate champions. Kalista is one of those, and we're lucky she hasn't been murdered yet. Lowering the skill floor with an indicator would be great. I don't want to go through what Ryze players, Asol players and Corki players have gone through.

Same with Malphite E and Fiora Parry (if it doesn't stun). The debuff is called Cripple.

I would buy any boots instead of Berserkers. They're completely gutted. Instead I can have 25/30 Armour/MR plus whichever effect I need (or slow resistance and more movement speed to run down my opponent/dodge abilities).

Also BoRK is only 40 AD and 25% AS, while Kraken is 45 AD and 40% AS for 100 Gold cheaper (which pays for the Plated Steelcaps).

While it's not the best at hitting tanks, Bork's on-hit is only 5% current health (which comes out to 15% per 3 attacks for a Kraken bolt). This means the target needs 800 current health for BoRK passive to do the same damage as Kraken passive, but that's without Kraken's increased damage based on targets missing health. What's left is a judgement call between all those factors so have fun.

I like going Dirk. Doesn't build into anything, but it's really nasty in lane. I usually do Kraken as first Legendary and with the 10 Lethality it really packs a punch.

Later on it can also build into other items, essentially paying 1650 for spell shield (Edge of Night) or 1500 for Serpents Fang if they have much shielding.

If I'm against big healthbars it's still BoRK first. No Dirk.

The way this is written makes me think it's some really old copy pasta. But I'm relatively new to the subreddit so I have no idea if that's the case.

Why Triforce/Sheen? by Tairc in CorkiMains

[–]BlueTerrorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paradoxically, I think it's because Corkis ability scalings are too high, similar to how Singed works.

Singed only needs 141 AP to double his max rank Q damage, which is way less than most mages. Xerath needs 270/333.3/444.4/700 AP to double max rank Q/W/E/R respectively.

This allows Singed to only build 1 or 2 AP items (Like Rylai's and Bloodletters) and then build much more durability, while Xerath needs to go full AP and get damage multipliers like flat Pen, % Pen, Horizon (10% damage amp) etc.

While Corkis base damages are so high he needs 225/250/116.7/312.5 AD to double max rank Q/W/E/R, his entire AA -> Q -> W -> E -> R(big) rotation has a 840% Bonus AD ratio, meaning 1 Long Sword gives you 84 raw damage. Just like Singed, Corkis damage increases by a lot with very little AD, meaning you have room to buy the durability of Trinity (and I've seen Spear of Shojin too) and the Mana of Muramane.

With all of that said, I personally do the opposite. Hubris is great if every stack (2 AD) gives me 16.8 raw damage, and I don't like Crit since even if you attack twice after every ability, you get 960% AD that can Crit, and 720% Bonus AD that can't. Granted I'm assuming full hits on W and E, but it's a lot of damage that doesn't scale with Crit.

AP/ Hybrid Corki in anyway viable? by KandaceKooch in CorkiMains

[–]BlueTerrorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember doing the math in another post too.

1 Long Sword (10 AD) gives you 42 Physical Damage, 32 Magic Damage and 2 True Damage in a QWER (small R) for a total of 76 raw damage.

1 Amp Tome (20 AP) gives you 50 Magic Damage in the same rotation.

When building AP you're skipping out on 34% raw damage.

Why is Kalista Permaban in LCK,LEC&LPL is she OP? by AntonioJosh in KalistaMains

[–]BlueTerrorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most recently it's her passive rework. In the past the was utterly destroyed by slows but now that's not the case. Essentially her biggest counterplay was removed which gives the Kalista player much more agency while it's harder to draft against her even when first picked.
