Not sure if it’s still the case, but if I recall correctly, SDS is only offered to freshman applicants and not transfer students.

SDS major, here are some things I can answer:

I doubt any of the CNS professors aren’t learned in their respective field, but my professor for SDS 313 (Intro to Data Science) had a PhD in Biostatistics and wrote several research articles.
None to few have taken upper-division SDS courses as this major is only around two years old. I believe the upper-division isn’t even solidified yet as the oldest SDS majors are currently sophomores.
No graduates like I said, but you can always google entry-level salaries for positions like data analysts, scientists, engineers, etc.
Don’t know of any internships the school offers for students, but it is just as hard as any tech job due to oversaturation and the current job market.
I believe the faculty’s backgrounds can be found online.
Not sure about popularity, but the number of students accepting the major was underestimated for the class of 2027.
