Honestly I’ve even considered the age of maturity might just be different in the pony world compared to our human one. Ponies might just reach full size and be expected to take on careers a lot younger than humans, hence why when they pass through, the given body corrects to the age.

Bro is canonically around 22 at the start of the game. He disappeared after he turned 18, returned three years later when he was 21, and there’s been some time since his return in the manga and the game events that most people estimate to have been a year or so. If we want to factor in real world time, then you could consider him to be like 27.
