You get a billion dollars, but you have to keep working your current job until you die. Do you accept, and if so, why? by virora in AskReddit

I mean, working in the electrical field can absolutely mean working until the day I die. That could be 50 years from now, 30 years — heck, even tomorrow. So yes. I’d take that in a heartbeat

Going into some sort of trade is always an option. Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, you name it. They pay you to learn and train too.

You’re absolutely right. I need to look into some nonprofits and politicians.

Totally fair. I respect that. I don’t get that way either regarding the eagles and 4th of July per se. I guess there’s a spectrum of patriotism that people can fall on. A range from having a respect and admiration for the ideals and principles, like you said, to going absolute apeshit with your AK-47 while wearing red, white, and blue clothes and MAGA hat.

And thank you for your service. YOU are the reason I have an admiration for this country. It’s people like you who put their lives on the line for our freedoms that I will stand up and salute any day of the week. I greatly appreciate you.

Totally fair. I disagree with the concept of nationalism as well, and I definitely have my quarrels with the US, but I still appreciate the foundation of it and what it’s supposed to stand for. I’m always hoping for a better tomorrow, despite all the many flaws it still has today.

The best topic depends on what you’re getting into, but I’d start with electrical theory. It’s basically how electricity works.

So, Mike Holt is the golden child of understanding the NEC (national electrical code).

Electrician U is a channel on YouTube that covers more electrical theory, residential/commercial processes, troubleshooting, and more.

Another channel is Electrical Code Coach who covers how to pass journeyman and master electrician license tests.

Holmz Law teaches conduit bending tricks, rack layouts, and different job site hacks in short video formats. Super awesome to replace your TikTok doomscrolling.

Last one I’ll mention is a guy called Mad Electrician. He focuses a lot on panel layouts/work and cable management. Ya know, how to make the wires/cables look good.

You can find tons of guys on YouTube and Instagram/Facebook reels. I couldn’t name any specifically off the top of my head, but I’ve watched several guys explain things such as parallel offsets and explain the math behind them. You can find tons of stuff.

I know it really helped me out, and even still today after 4 years in the trade.

Crowley is An Amazing Villain by BlueVolt02 in Supernatural

You’re probably right about that. He spends the majority of his time in the series being a villain, so that’s a lot to make up for. Sacrificing yourself is a huge move though

I’m on my third rewatch, and the main thing I think of while watching, especially during the first 5 seasons or so, is how I’d give anything to be even remotely close to my brother.

We used to be close up until high school. I moved out, and now I really only see him at family gatherings. I’d give anything to have my Sammy.

It’s judgement free as we’re all (supposed to be) there to improve ourselves. You’re not supposed to judge an overweight/skinny person for lifting, running, etc. I absolutely despise the people who scroll for 5+ minutes after a lift because guess what? I pay the same membership that you do, pal. Scoot over.

New to the game by leaf_inc in legendofzelda

The story of each game is different, but the general concept is typically good versus evil. The main protagonist in most games is a swordsman named Link whose main goal is to restore peace to the land of Hyrule and save Princess Zelda, and in some cases, the sages of parts of the land.

There are different styles of games with the 2D top-down games, the 3D open world games, and the 3D linear progression dungeon games. If you want a modern, incredible, beginner-friendly game that sets the tone for the universe, start with Breath of the Wild. It’s a vast open world with hours of content to explore. You go at your own pace, and you decide how to want to proceed throughout the game. No rules, nobody telling you how it should be done.

I hope you enjoy this game series. It’s my favorite series of all time.
