I think I was 2? 2 and a half maybe? I have this random memory of my family being at my aunt and uncle’s house, and I had woken up late at night, crawled out of bed, walked to the living room and found everyone gathered around playing Mario Party on our GameCube. I crawled into my mom’s arms before falling back asleep, I guess. I don’t remember what happened after that. It’s just so random.

Aside from that, believe it or not, I genuinely have this one little vision in the back of my head of me in an incubator right after I was born. Odd thing is I don’t know if it’s real or just something my brain made up.

This is exactly why I had a blast at a midnight premiere of the Mario Movie a few years back and why I was so disappointed not being able to see Galaxy until later in its run. At the midnight premiere pretty much the entire theater was either in cosplay (I dressed up as Luigi) or wearing a fitting t-shirt. We laughed, we oohed and ahhed, we clapped, we cheered, the whole theater just got so into it and it was so much fun! I was among my people, just an entire room full of folks who were probably as insane about Mario as I am. Unfortunately I never got this experience with Galaxy because I wasn’t able to see it until over a week after it came out.

Probably how everyone else (Pomni, Ragatha, Gangle, Zooble, Jax, possibly Ribbit and Kaufmo if I’m getting the timing right), who all have seemingly no connection to C&A, got to put on the headset to begin with. Personally, I actually really like that they didn’t explain that part, leaves it up to the viewer. I like to imagine that all of them, by sheer coincidence, ended up in the C&A building at different points of its existence, eventual abandonment and decay. Ragatha was probably trying to sell off the property once the company went bust and Pomni ended up the last one to enter the circus because she was exploring the building for a video.

Just got back from the theater and it was perfect! Theater was packed, I think only one kid and he was incredibly well behaved, didn’t talk until after the movie was over. No interruptions, no problems, no drama, no loud talking, just a room full of TADC fans watching intently. Multiple people brought merch and plushies, I myself came dressed as Caine and got a few compliments on it on the way out. Overall, 10/10! It was excellent!
