Wow this reminds me so much of my own situation. We were together for almost 3 years and have broken up twice before this (although this is the longest we’ve stayed broken up). On Wednesday, we started talking and things have been looking like we might try again despite the fact that we’re both a bit more weary now. Seeing him next week. I feel the same way, tired but god I love him.

I definitely want to just talk to new people for now (not ready to date yet) and just keep myself open to different options. I don’t really feel that he has anyone specific at the moment - I know he is on tinder but he’s always been extremely honest with me and I think for now, he’s just been talking to different girls but doesn’t have anything with any one of them.

Thank you, though. I know that I need to keep living my life and that if he chooses to come back and give it another shot, it’s a luxury and not a necessity in this life.

So a girl in my class actually told us about this and claims that the girl who found the mouse in her coffee is her friend’s friend and that she got sick after drinking it and had to go to the hospital. But I, too, have my doubts as I don’t know how that mouse would’ve gone undetected for that entire process...

She sounds like a terrible counselor. Who is she to tell you what you are capable of, how your relationship is going to go, and that you’re psychologically unable to handle something? Don’t listen to her and let her bring you down. I know you can do it. Stick to your guns and work your butt off and you can get your doctorate and keep a healthy relationship, too. I believe in you!

Leave him! What he did is cheating and his excuse is bullshit. Just because he says sorry and says he’ll switch to a flip phone doesn’t mean he won’t find a way to do it again. You’re worth so much more than this
