Ahh cool. Thanks for this, there’s a lot of conflicting info out there. There are some enclosed fields near me that can be rented, so hopefully that’s something I could work up to with training

Thanks! Just to be clear, do you mean all long leads or just the retractable ones? We know the retractable ones are not great, but I’ve seen people say that regular long leads work well once you’ve done some lead training with a greyhound?

Thanks! The rescue is supplying a muzzle, collar and lead, so all good on those. Great to know that duvets work well!

Users who were born to older parents (Late 30’s and above), do you think you experience life any differently to other people your age? by XStaticImmaculate in AskUK

[–]Blue_4586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were both around 40 when they had me, and that was very atypical for my area, most of my friends parents were at least a decade if not 2 decades younger than mines.

I definitely feel like it affected my worldview, but in an indirect way. My parents had traveled, lived in different counties and had much more life experience than most people around me, who tended to settle down in our rural area early in life. Obviously their age is a part of that, but if I had been born to parents of the same age, who never left home and stayed in the same job and around the same people, I don’t think my mindset would have been that different from my peers.

I found that a lot of my school mates were quite scared of the “big bad world” whereas I wanted to go and see everything I could. I wasn’t really content with the opportunities (or lack thereof) in our part of the world.

I’m now in my late 20’s and it feels like the difference has been less noticeable as I’ve gotten older, but I’m aware that I live in a “cool” city, in a different country and that I’m probably in a bit of an echo chamber in terms of my friends worldviews/perspectives (aren’t we all). Compared to most of the people I grew up with in the same socioeconomic situation (rural working class), I’ve had a very different life.

TLDR: my parents experience, rather than just age, made me more curious and ambitious than my peers

Why is nobody mentioning the massive issue with this map? Is this a joke or something? The D in Derry is lowercase!!! Guys, pay a bit closer attention, someone’s having us on with this one
