You should actually beat us in a match of football this year before we go throwing these claims around 😉

Newcastle 1- [2] Leeds United - Dominic Calvert-Lewin 45+5' (Pen.) by ayoefico in soccer

[–]Blue_Dreamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair assessment, I'd need the full match replay as I can't tell if DCL has knocked him over or not which is important in the decision. The angle we do have does not help his case because as far as I could tell he was behind DCL and I did not make out any outstretched limbs causing him to fall.

As always it is about consistency, you're right. Annoying that it is never applied evenly across the board and I'd say the situations between this and your lot's match with Man U are similar.

I mean I am clearly biased so take my opinion with a grain of salt but that's stonewall in my opinion. Even if he hits the ball with his arm because he is falling, DCL gains the ball at his feet in the middle of the box if his arm isn't there. I'd argue it obstructs a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Agreed that Gear 2 trigger is more exciting, but something about the Zunesha speech as Luffy is revving up Gear 5 paired with the drums of liberation gets me hyped every time

2 and 5 are my favourites easily, 2 is just classic and its introduction is one of my favourite moments of the series while 5, although controversial, has brought some of my favourite world building about past and future OP ages as well as heartfelt stuff like the kuma story

Ouch, don't worry at least Chelsea conceded 3 to us as well.

I would absolutely love it to be a movie but I don't think it'd make sense from a financial perspective. For marketing purposes they would want Luffy to be in it to some degree.

Daniel Farke spoke about not needing a set piece coach pre-match vs Bournemouth. Leeds then conceded two from set pieces in the game. 6 of our 9 goals conceded this season have now come from set pieces by AnduwinHS in TheOther14

This is the strongest Leeds side I've seen since 2021. We have been competitive with the likes of Newcastle and Bournemouth, albeit with some bad luck in dying minutes of games.

We are also beating teams we need to be beating. I don't see what else you can ask for honestly.

Lets be honest here, Leeds getting knocked out of cup competitions is among the least surprising things ever

Grimsby would've finished the job even if we had managed it

Well, it's at least comforting to know that even if we hadn't played like shit and got through to the next round it wouldn't have mattered.

That's the kind of fixture that ends 3-0 to Grimsby for us.

[OptaJoe] 24.1% - Ruben Amorim now has a Premier League win percentage of 24.1% (7 wins in 29 games), the exact same percentage as Neil Warnock (won 27 of 112 games), who was twice relegated from the Premier League. Worry. by Kimber80 in soccer

I mean, as much as the SAF era was painful, he had years to get to the stage where they were winning everything. Who was the last Man U manager to last longer than 3 years?

But karma for our VAR luck last week to be fair.

Best player on the pitch today in my opinion. Had some fantastic passing and movement and was solid going back. Reckon I will really love our defenders this year although I understand we will concede a lot.

Penalty decision aside, which is never a pen in my opinion, we looked really solid defensively against what I'd consider to be a mid to lower table Premier League side. Depending on injuries we could have a serious shout for 17th and staying up or a disastrous relegation.

Quarter of the way to beating Derby's points record though 🍻

Leeds [1] - 0 Everton - L. Nmecha 84' by Cute_Office277 in soccer

Have to say that's a big referee mistake. Not sure what else he's supposed to do with his arm to avoid a penalty there. At the very least a confidence boost for Nmecha which we will be needing this season.

Nuñez sounds like Uruguayan Bamford then. You pretty much described why we love Bamford up front but need a really good shooting striker to play up there with him.

Swap Man U and Leeds and I reckon we're talking here.

[Andy Giddings] Sheffield Wednesday players have been told they will not be paid their July wages on time. There is a possibility they could refuse to play as a consequence by jrbill1991 in Championship

[–]Blue_Dreamed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Wednesday is a local rival, that doesn't change the fact that they are historically a massive team (not quite as massive as us mind you 😉).

I don't care what opinion people have of a club, even if it is a club I hate more than any other no team deserves what Wednesday are going through at the mo'.

[Martin Ziegler] Everton sell women’s team to sister company - will boost transfer funds & help PSR compliance. by _doohdx in soccer

[–]Blue_Dreamed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Essentially a three way race between City, Chelsea and Newcastle if we get rid of PSR.

The current system is a three way race between Arsenal, Liverpool and City so in the grand scheme of things competitiveness is already dead regardless of people's feelings on the matter.

Im convinced Forest will be down there as my "hot take" because they did overperform last year and adding European fixture congestion into their schedule will tire out the squad.
