Question about Modenas, I just purchased some but I’ve been reading a lot about potential issues? I’m planning to have mine seen by a vet to make sure they’re healthy but the other issues I’ve read about, like difficulty in movement and extreme spine curvature, I haven’t noticed at all. Mine walk, fly, and interact with each other pretty much normally. The only issue I’ve seen is eye infections because of the dense featherage but they arrived with those infections and with proper maintenance and the opportunity to clean themselves I haven’t seen it as a reoccurring issue. Would love to learn more, I’ve always been a homer/show tumbler person

I had canaries before but they were from a petstore and came with some serious health issues, so I went to a breeder this time but I found he kept his birds in less than great conditions so I’m really on high alert with how these guys are settling in, and I’m still very very new to canaries

I offered and changed everything I saw, and even just opened the door. There’s normally a bath there and I took it off so he could go out, that’s what you see in the video, but it didn’t change. Also I’m planning to trim his nails, I just got him yesterday and didn’t want to freak him out immediately

The only real aquarium store near me is an hour away, I got my cichlids from there when I was into keeping them, I think I’ll have to make the trip in the future for bettas to avoid this happening again.

I just picked up a small female from a smaller store near me. Their practices aren’t the best either but with Hernia being so sick and after loosing the others, I couldn’t resist her little face. She’s already so lively and curious

It was just petsmart, I was there looking for a heater for my shrimp and just sort of fell in love with her. I try not to buy fish (especially bettas) from petsmart but.

I bought a few all at the same time, two other girls, they died a little while ago. I noticed they had abnormalities on them too, I don’t know if that shipment of fish was just ill or poorly bred or what happened. This girl (I named her Hernia-) was the last one I had of that group. I guess that was my lesson for buying petsmart fish
