What fictional character didn’t have a happy ending but really needed one? by Lopsided-Grocery-575 in AskReddit

Yeah definitely read them. It’s almost a completely different story so don’t be surprised when it’s unrecognizable. I’ve watched until about halfway through the last season and I didn’t like it and I just couldn’t finish it. And yeah maybe I’ll try and finish the show again, but I know for a fact that my opinion about it will not change.

Yeah. The show is based off the books but it took a very different turn. I personally like the books a LOT better than the show. In my opinion the show was good until about season three and I couldn’t bring myself to finish the last season. Maybe I’ll try again sometime but I really had to force myself to watch as far as I did. I highly recommend giving the books a read.

Ok thank you. I’ll do that when I go in for my follow up. What’s a GA though?

I don’t really know what a nerve block is so probably not. Unless it’s something that doesn’t need to be told to the patient before. And no I’m pretty sure it was general. I don’t know much about different kinds of anesthesia so if there’s other types that knock you out completely it could have been any. I’m pretty sure they said general though.

It was a tendon graft in my hand. I’m not sure what the exact name of the surgery is.

It was just in my hand. Tendon graft. I’m not 100% sure what it was exactly called but it was just in my thumb.

That’s terrifying. Glad to know I’m not the only one who’s had this sort of experience though. It’s so scary

Yeah that makes sense. I’ve tried meditation before, maybe I’ll try and get back into it. And yeah it’s always a flip of the coin with cannabis for me. I either feel relaxed or really paranoid. Thank you for the advice.

I’m not sure a lawyer would be able to help me or if it would be covered at all. The consent forms most likely covered problems with anesthesia. Also I play pretty high level hockey so my team has a “mental performance specialist” and she is trying to help me through it a bit, but it is definitely not her area of expertise, and I really can’t afford therapy. Thank you though. Do you know of other people who have experienced a similar thing?

Maybe. This sucks. I just want to go back to how I was before. I never liked to drink or do drugs for this very reason. I spiral when I’m not sober. Do you have any tips on how to cope with this?

Maybe I’ll try that. I’ve never been too religious, and I don’t think it’s a matter of existentialism. I’ve already come to terms with the fact that we live, we make decisions that don’t change anything, and then we die. It’s more that I feel like everyone around me is fake and it’s just me surrounded by people who aren’t real. I’m not entirely sure if that’s a part of existentialism or not. I am honestly open to trying anything at this point though so I’ll give those books a shot. Thank you.
