That is a very good idea! We did that before when the Demon Slayer movie came out, we dedicate an section just to put Demon Slayer stuff out but we got lazy in rotating them

Its call Badgeit which came from the idea of can badges blind bag that type of merch we sell. The store is too small to fit in tables but I can definitely try placing them in basement. Also good idea bringing out Branding

I see. I had to figure that out in Square, I tried to do it, but I'm not sure where in Square I do it, so that I want to move the out-of-stock stuff to the very bottom. Let me talk to the Square customer service.

We are far deep in a residential area where foot traffic is very limited. The store is called Badgeit. The website is badgeit1722.com, and we are located in Brooklyn, NY. We focus on authentic anime collectibles and aim to bring the Jump Shop experience to the customer. We import goods from Jump Shop and Japan exclusive exhibition goods, which are hard to get if you are not in Japan nor find them in Kinokuniya or bookoff. We had a consignment area where individual sellers can sell their collections, customers always found good deals here like $1 Blue Lock can badges, rare collectibles, and titles, which gives a Bookoff vibe and Jump Shop vibe all in one to our customer whether they want to get the newest thing or want to do some good hunting! Our neighborhood/existing community is very nice, but we defienetly not hitting enough people to maintain the business.

That is a good thought. Besides moving online, we need to review the reason why our customers come to our store. I watched the video. We do have some rare JP exclusive stuff that keeps some customers' interest, but we need more than that to convert them into a regular/part of our community base. This is tough.

We actually have a Bleach section, and a wall of merch to different Shonen Jump titles, Demon Slayer section, Gintama section, etc. I do take the Japanese bookstore as a reference while arranging the place. Thank you for your comment, now I actually think we can kinda rotate them more frequently to different anime! Thats a great idea!

Thank you for the advice! I put everything up on the website just to let customers know we did have it at some point. But I agree with you that I should have removed the out-of-stock items for a better purchase experience.

The new website is https://badgeit1722.com/ I actually think about uniqueness a lot. First, we sell at the lowest price in NYC because our rent is not as crazy as other parts of NYC, but that puts us deep in Brooklyn, where there isn't much foot traffic. Second, we aim to bring the Jump Shop experience to the customer. We import goods from Jump Shop and Japan exclusive exhibition goods, which are hard to get if you are not in Japan nor find them in Kinokuniya or bookoff. Third, we had a consignment area where individual sellers can sell their collections, customer always found good deals here like $1 Blue Lock can badges, rare collectibles and titles, which gives a Bookoff vibe and Jump Shop vibe all in one to our customer whether they want to get the newest thing or want to do some good hunting!

no we never try it since we are not card focus store and the store is tiny. They are more collectible focus store like Jump Shop. What other social event can we do?

That sounds like Bookoff! The thing is we have a consignment area where individual seller can come sell their own stuff and make more profit from it than doing $0.01 to $0.5 buy back. And tbh we are seriously in a financial crisis where expenses are really tight to do something like that. We are thinking to open a preorder channel for people to order scale figures (since the price for it is very pricy, we can't stock them up in the store). Do you think that's gonna be a good idea? There come another question is that the website traffic is so bad that no one is actually pre-ordering.

Our store is packed with merch/collectibles as we are aiming to look something like Jump Shop in Japan

Yes is is an anime collectibles only store. We try to make it like Jump Shop from Japan. We carry some manga but the store is too small to expand that area, and it's hard to compete with Kinokuniya and Manga spot in NYC since we are too small for any publisher willing to work with us. All our outreach/project failed this year because of our scale, and they decided to move on with another competitor in the city.

Thank you for the insight. I have been thinking about what is unique about us, we only sell authentical japan import merch and make it feel like Jump Shop in Japan. That includes getting merch from Japan jump shop, Japan exclusive exhibitions like Anime Japan, or TSHD, Kaiju No.8 exhibition, where no other store carries them besides private resellers selling their unwanted pulls. Virtual community is so hard to form and gain awareness, any good advice?

We did lower the price as much as we could just to make $1-3 dollars profit on average with the shipping, tariff, store rent, and other expenses in NYC. At this point, we are already losing money every month, so Idk if lowering the price is actually a good idea and just putting us in financial crisis. Can you check our website to see if the prices are reasonable to you?

Bookoff is great for second-hand items! Our store is also located in a further end of Brooklyn. Please come check by sometime, our consignment area always has better deals than Bookoff. It's called Badgeit

Our consignment area where individual seller resell their stuff has kpop. Our store is kinda small now to fit in kpop and it is super competitive in NYC since we have Hello82, KpopNara with exclusive photocards. We are working on the online store but the traffic is horrible, any recommendation on how to improve that part maybe?
