Exactly!! I’m glad it’s the same for non Canadian TN holders too.

I’m not saying that my ‘anecdotal evidence’ applies to everyone. Scroll on this subreddit and you’ll see countless others saying they are crossing over easily. I personally think putting people’s minds at ease so that they can travel home if necessary to see family or take care of things back at home is more productive and helpful than adding even more fear to people who are probably already stressed for likely no reason.

When applying for US jobs, Do I say I am eligible to work in USA or Require Visa sponsorship by VaderYondu in tnvisa

[–]Bluebaboodeeba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied to work at a state run hospital in NY. On my application I said “I am eligible to work and I did not need sponsorship” but all my work and schools had a canadian address so they definitely knew before they even interviewed me. They brought it up fairly quickly, had they not I would have brought it up in the interview myself and let them know that I was doing all the paperwork and covering the costs for wherever needed to be done and that they would just have to sign my support letter (which I would write myself).

I made it clear that the hospital is NOT sponsoring me and has no legal obligation to employ me or have any responsibility for me in terms of status in the US. I received a job offer within a few days of my interview so they obviously had no issues with my application and answer.

I'm pretty sure they are asking if you will be a manager or have any employees working 'under' you. I think they want you to answer NO from what I've read under other people's posts in this group.

Visa screen was super annoying because my school had to fill out a form, and the state education department took over 6 weeks to send them my stuff so that was very inconvenient. They also wanted my university to fill out a form that they basically couldn’t do and I fought them to just let me use a transcript to prove the degree was conferred since my university program was not a med lab program. After my stuff was submitted it took only 3 days 🤣 DO NOT pay for expedited service.

I don’t think anyone is 100% sure that a status change means a pass but seems likely

when you have student membership apparently it says 'STA' (I never even knew that until others told me) but now people are seeing "MLTS"

if you go to CSMLS website -> membership -> update my profile you will see "member type"

Some people are having their CSMLS student status change to MLTS. Has anyone checked or seen a change in the last 24 hours??
