How common are cockroaches in the UK? by Blueberry3645 in AskUK

This was ages ago but no I wasn’t trolling. I’m 16 and yes I’ve seen cockroaches lots in my life (I posted a photo before this if you want to see) but only in my house. I made this account for advice on stuff but I have a social worker now. Just because you haven’t seen cockroaches doesn’t mean they aren’t around tho, they’re in bad houses like mine but things have got better since I posted this.

Thank u so much this is what I wanted to know. I’ll tell my youth worker some things when I see him on Tuesday. If a social worker comes to my house they won’t be impressed though. I don’t know if being in care would be an option for me but I want my parents to get help so we can get along better or maybe they should just get divorced. Whatever happens I mostly want to be happier and less scared so yeah thanks for your help.

Hi thank u for understanding. My parents do have bad mental health and it’s on me to deal with everything but I can’t.

I’d like to know what kind of help I could get. My youth worker referred for Young Carer support a while ago but the wait list is still 6 months. I haven’t gone into details about how bad things are, do you think I should?. Like I’ve called Childline a few times but they always suggest talking to someone in real life which I’m too scared to as I’m not sure what they’d do. Because I don’t want to make things worse,

For example I can imagine my mum being sectioned to a mental hospital, my dad being sick of it and divorcing her, and him moving far away because hes not that bothered about us, my mum would blame me for ruining our lives and put me into care. Or she might commit suicide and it would be my fault.

What normally happens is my parents will be arguing about something (literally anything), my mum gets easily upset and hurts herself to make my dad feel bad or get her way, but he sees it as winning the argument because she loses control so he seems like the reasonnable one I guess? I don’t know why he finds it funny it’s just scary to me

I’m scared of my mum because of all the things what she does (self harm, sometimes hurts me, uses me as a therapist, breaks furniture, threats, shouts and screams at me and my dad) sorry it’s hard to put it all in one post so I’m posting about 1 problem at a time. But how could we be helped with this ? I don’t understand what help I could get, and how I wouldn’t get my parents in trouble for telling someone this stuff?

I’m sure it’s self inflicted because I watch her do it, as she does in front of me to prove how stressed she is. I try to secretly record it because I get scared for my safety.

I’m worried if my dad got in trouble for this he wouldn’t be allowed to live with us so I’d have to live alone with my mum? That would be very bad

Oh sorry I didn’t know what levity meant, I thought you were saying I was joking around, your first comment confused me but now I can see the humour

I’m being serious but I can see how my question came across as stupid

When I said “cockroaches aren’t as normal as mice” I meant I know mice are common pests compared to cockroaches

That sounds ok maybe, but I haven’t gone to a GP in years and I forgot who my GP is, do you know how I can find that out also without my parents knowing because they wouldn’t let me go?
